October 3, 2022 [View Online]( TOGETHER WITH [SkinCalm]( Good morning! Having done it more than once, I know it can be tempting to put off end-of-season garden cleanup until there's enough snow to hide the evidence. But I also know that doing some cleanup in the fall pays dividends in spring, so in Today’s Good Thing, I’m sharing 6 outdoor chores worth doing before the snow flies. And in a new Stay Safe Out There, I’ll tell you about a new type of phishing scheme on the rise. Find out what you need to know to avoid taking the bait below. Jillee TODAY'S GOOD THING [Photos of Jillee working in her yard and garden.]( [6 Important Outdoor Chores You'll Be Glad You Did Now]( End-of-season cleanup may not exactly be fun, but doing these 6 things now will give your garden a leg up next spring. [Read more ➜]( TOGETHER WITH SKINCALM Psoriasis Is Rough, But This Makes It More Bearable Soothe psoriasis and other itchy skin conditions without the downsides of steroids. I occasionally get eczema on my hands, arms, or legs, ranging from mildly itchy to “this itches so much I can't even think!” Regular lotion doesn't help, and my experience with rebound from nasal sprays has made me reluctant to use steroid creams. (With steroid rebound, the condition comes back worse after you stop treatment, and it's awful.) For that reason, I was excited when I heard about [SkinCalm Dead Sea Salt Cream](, a steroid-free cream for psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions. In addition to Dead Sea salt, which helps reduce redness and inflammation, this cream also contains soothing aloe vera and nourishing vitamin E to leave skin soft and moisturized. Here’s what one reviewer had to say about it: “I have had psoriasis for several years. I tried prescription medications with no results. After using this product for a week, the affected areas stopped flaking. I am very happy with this product and recommend it to all my friends.” While it was made with psoriasis in mind, [Dead Sea Salt Cream]( can also calm other types of itchiness and inflammation, including eczema, acne, and dryness. If you struggle with dry or itchy skin, you’ll definitely want to check it out. (The fact that you can [get 15% off with code OGT15]( is just icing on the cake!) [Learn how to remove ads.]( STAY SAFE OUT THERE What You Need To Know About ‘Spear-Phishing’ [A photo of Jillee looking skeptically at her phone.]( A new twist on phishing is helping cyber criminals hit their marks with deadly accuracy. Last October, I wrote in this segment about phishing, a cyber crime where scammers send messages that appear to be from a trustworthy source to trick victims into downloading malware or revealing personal information that can be used in identity theft. But now there’s a new twist on this classic internet scheme that's growing in popularity: “spear-phishing.” Instead of casting a wide net in hopes of snagging a few fish, spear-phishing is tailored to its victims, and thus more likely to fool them. Phishing tries to resemble an email or text anyone might receive, like a shipping notification from Amazon. Spear-phishing tries to resemble a message you specifically might receive, like a Facebook message from your aunt or an email from your mortgage lender. To avoid winding up on the pointy end of a spear-phishing scheme: • Consider any request for money in an email, text, or social media message a huge red flag. • Make a habit of reviewing senders’ email addresses or profiles for typos, weird grammar, or anything out of the ordinary. • Be wary of links and attachments—copy and paste links into [Google’s Safe Browsing tool]( to check its safety status. • When in doubt, contact the sender directly to verify whether a message from them is legitimate.
