August 30, 2022 [View Online]( Good morning! While sagging skin is a reality of aging, some areas can be more embarrassing. If you’re like me and feel particularly self-conscious about the skin on your neck, the 7 simple solutions in Today’s Good Thing can help. And cheesecake fans, rejoice, because today’s Cooking segment features my favorite cheesecake recipe. Not only is it easy to make and foolproof to cook, but its soft, creamy texture is the stuff cheesecake dreams are made of. Jillee TODAY'S GOOD THING 7 Simple (Not Drastic) Solutions For Sagging Neck Skin [Photos of tips for sagging neck skin.]( No need for drastic measures—these tips will strengthen your muscles and firm up your skin. I try not to concern myself with looking “young,” but I’d certainly rather look my age than look older than I actually am. So I’m mainly concerned with the most visible and difficult to conceal signs of getting older, and one of those is the dreaded “turkey neck.” Everyone’s skin loses elasticity over time, but I can’t help but feel self-conscious about the dwindling firmness of the skin on my neck. At one point, I even wondered whether some kind of medical procedure was my only option for doing something about it. But I wasn’t going to jump that far without doing some research first, and I ended up finding 7 simple remedies and tips for sagging neck skin. From muscle strengthening exercises to skincare solutions, these tips can help fight sagging skin and give you a confidence boost to boot. You’ll find those 7 quick and easy ways to cope with saggy neck skin at the link below. Ask Your Phone [An image of an iPhone screen displaying the Parked Car marker in the Maps app.]( Just think of all the time you’ll save wandering aimlessly around parking structures. It seems like the moment I cross the threshold from the parking lot into a store, my memory of where I parked my car vanishes completely. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve exited a store and realized I had no idea which direction my car was in. But luckily for me (and anyone else who struggles with this memory lapse phenomenon), the iOS 15 update for iPhone included a handy feature that can automatically remember where your car is parked. When you disconnect your iPhone from CarPlay or your car's Bluetooth system, it automatically drops a marker in the Maps app at your current location to indicate where you parked. You can find it by opening the Maps app and tapping the search field—look under Siri Suggestions for Parked Car. (If you don’t use CarPlay or Bluetooth in your car, you can still mark your location to make it easier to find later. Just long press on the Maps app icon on your Home screen, then tap Mark My Location.) [Learn more in the iPhone User Guide](. COOKING Perfect Instant Pot Cheesecake [Photos of Instant Pot cheesecake.]( I used to think cheesecake was beyond my skill set before I tried making it in my Instant Pot. Ovens aren't very good at retaining moisture, which is why cheesecake baked in an oven often comes out with cracked or dense filling. But the humid environment of the Instant Pot ensures that cheesecake always turns out light, moist, and perfectly smooth, which is why it’s my favorite Instant Pot dessert! Here’s how to make it: Generously grease a 7-inch springform pan. Stir 1 1/4 cups of crushed graham crackers and 5 tablespoons of melted butter together in a mixing bowl, then press it into the pan in an even layer that covers the bottom and extends halfway up the sides. Add 16 ounces of cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar to your food processor and mix until smooth. Add 2 eggs one at a time, then stop, scrape the sides, add 1/4 cup of sour cream and mix again. Add 2 teaspoons of lemon zest, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt and mix again. Lastly, add 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour and process again for a full minute. Pour the finished filling into the crust and lower it onto a trivet at the bottom of your Instant Pot. Add 1-2 cups of water to the bottom of the pot, put the lid on, and Pressure Cook on High for 25 minutes. When the timer goes off, turn off the Keep Warm function and let the pot depressurize naturally (about 20 minutes). Carefully remove the cheesecake from the pot and cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then cover with foil or plastic wrap and chill for at least another hour before serving. Stevens is rigidly formal, and passionate to the point of obsession about duty and dignity. As he reflects on his life throughout the story, Stevens begins to realize the extent to which his strict code of conduct has superseded his humanity. His vulnerable examination of his fear of intimacy and unacknowledged feelings for the family’s housekeeper, Miss Kenton, broke my heart. The story itself is a beautifully somber reminder to “stop and smell the roses” in life. Stevens’s restrained introspection allows you to vicariously experience the aftereffects of a life spent on someone else's terms. In the face of his uncertainty and sorrow, you can't help but feel inspired to make the most of what's left of your life. Pick up Remains Of The Day and treat yourself to a magnificently written story and an emotional journey you won’t soon forget. I’m already looking forward to reading more of Ishiguro's works in the future. [See Remains Of The Day by Kazuo Ishiguro on Amazon ➜]( A FEW MORE THINGS... Good Grief: Today is National Grief Awareness Day, which aims to raise awareness of the complexity of grief and encourage more open communication about how we deal with loss. There’s no clear-cut roadmap or timeline for grieving a significant loss, and accepting that reality can help us show our loved ones (and ourselves) more compassion during times of grief. ♍️ Virgo Season: One week ago (oops—my bad!), the sun entered the astrological sign of [Virgo](, the Maiden.
