July 13, 2022 [View Online]( Good morning! Single-serving treats are a great way to enjoy something sweet when you don't want to deal with a lot of leftovers. The rice krispie treat in Today's Good Thing is the easiest single-serving treat I know how to make, and it tastes every bit as good as the classic full-size recipe. Also in todayâs newsletter, Iâll show you how to make a versatile skin ointment with just 2 ingredients. Perfect for healing dry skin and minor wounds, itâs a handy thing to have around during the summer! Jillee TODAY'S GOOD THING This Is The Easiest Single-Serving Treat You'll Ever Make [Photos of Jillee eating a rice krispie treat.]( With this snack-sized recipe, you can treat yourself to a homemade rice krispie treat anytime. I donât know the exact number of times I've made rice krispie treats over the years, but Iâm sure itâs near triple digits. It was my go-to easy dessert for years after Kell was diagnosed with celiac (though I wish I'd learned sooner that Kelloggâs Rice Krispies aren't totally gluten freeâbut you live and learn.) The gluten debacle notwithstanding, our affinity for homemade rice krispie treats is still very much alive and well. And since we had a partial bag of marshmallows left over from making sâmores on the 4th, my first thought was to make rice krispie treats. We didnât have quite enough marshmallows for that, but I wasn't disappointed for long. I had a vague memory of writing about single-serving rice krispie treats on my blog ages ago, so I dug up the recipe and made one, and now I can't believe I ever let it slip my mind! Iâm confident you'll love this quick and easy treat as much as I do, so I'm sharing the recipe with you today. So check out the simple recipe below, give it a try, and drop me a line to let me know what you think! Keep your swimwear in great shape with these 3 tips. 1. Rinse Before And After Swimming. Before you hop in the water, rinse off and soak your suitâif itâs already saturated with clean water, it wonât absorb as much of the chlorinated water or salt water while youâre swimming. When youâre done swimming for the day, jump back in the shower and rinse your swimsuit thoroughly.
2. Wash Gently. Much like delicate bras, swimsuits can be damaged by washing machines, and taking the time to hand wash them can help lengthen their lifespan. Itâs easy to do tooâjust follow the same process for [hand washing a bra](. After washing swimsuits, lay them out flat indoors or in the shade and allow them to air dry.
3. Try A Chlorine Neutralizer. If youâre spending a lot of time in chlorinated pools, you may want to invest in a chlorine neutralizer like [Summer Solutions](. Special cleansers like these neutralize and remove chlorine from swimwear, which can help minimize damage and keep swimwear in better condition over time. BEAUTY Make A Versatile Ointment With 2 Ingredients [A photo of someone rubbing ointment on their hands.]( This natural ointment is great for both hydrating and healing skin, and itâs so easy to make! Ointments like Vaseline can help to moisturize dry skin and heal minor wounds, and this homemade version offers the same benefits. In fact, it probably offers more benefits than its store-bought counterparts thanks to its two components: beeswax and olive oil. Olive oil is an antioxidant-rich moisturizer, and natural beeswax not only has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, but itâs also an occlusive ingredient that seals in moisture while keeping dirt and irritants out. Plus, you can whip it up in just a few minutes. Here's how to do it: Add 2 tablespoons of beeswax pellets and 1/2 cup of olive oil to a glass bowl and set it over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until the wax has melted and combined with the oil, then pour the melted oil mixture into a small container with a tight-fitting lid. Allow the mixture to cool completely before using. How To Use It: Use your homemade ointment to soften and rehydrate dry lips, control unruly eyebrows and flyaways, heal minor cuts and scrapes, moisturize dry noses and nasal passages, soften tough skin, [and more](. Luckily, there's a great website called [Stellarium]( where you can observe the night sky exactly as it would appear if there weren't any pesky lights hiding it from view. The symbols at the bottom of your browser are additional layers of information you can click to turn on and off. The Constellations layer shows the outlines of the major constellations, and the Constellation Art layer adds illustrations to show what the outlines are meant to represent. Want to see what the sky looks like in the southern hemisphere (or the northern hemisphere, for those of you down south)? Change your location by selecting the location field in the lower left corner. [Check out Stellarium]( for yourself and see what other cool features you can find! Thereâs also a mobile version of the site called Stellarium Mobile available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can use it while stargazing to identify satellites moving overhead and learn more about the stars and planets youâre seeing. How cool is that?
