PLUS: Something silly for your Saturday and free books for World Book Day. PLUS: Something silly for your Saturday and free books for World Book Day. April 23, 2022 [View Online]( Good morning! As the weather continues to improve, Saturday feels more and more like a day that’s meant to be savored outside. To make it easier for you to do just that, I’m introducing the updated OGT Newsletter Weekend Edition. In addition to a new Weekend Edition logo, Saturday newsletters will now more closely resemble the ones you’ve been receiving on Sunday. Both Weekend Editions will deliver a more concentrated dose of household tips, so you can learn something useful while enjoying more of your weekend. (Oh, and don't miss the brand new segment in today's newsletter! As the name suggests, every Saturday I'll share a funny meme, GIF, or quote that I thought you'd appreciate as much as I did. Enjoy!) Jillee TODAY'S GOOD THING 7 Things You Should Clear Out Of Your Freezer [Photos of various frozen foods.]( Not only are they unappetizing (and possibly unsafe), but they’re hogging valuable freezer space too. In the past I’ve been guilty of treating the contents of my freezer as “out of sight, out of mind.” That’s one of the few drawbacks of freezing food—it can stay fresh for several months, which is apparently long enough for me to forget about it entirely! But even though our freezers can keep certain foods fresh for months, they can't do it indefinitely. In fact, there are likely items in your freezer right now that have already passed their prime. So why not clear those items out and reclaim that space for a more useful purpose? I've given you a head start by putting together a list of 7 things to clear out of your freezer, along with explanations for each. I also threw in a few guidelines that can help you protect your frozen foods and avoid common problems like freezer burn. This project doesn’t technically fall under the “spring cleaning” umbrella, but I’m convinced it should be! After all, what better time of year to free up some real estate in your freezer than ahead of the season of popsicles and ice cream?
