The best deals to snag in July, a quick and easy cleaning challenge, and more. July 2, 2021 [View Online]( Good morning! If youâre one of the millions of people who suffer from seasonal allergies or know someone who is, thereâs exciting news in Todayâs Good Thing you wonât want to miss. And are you ready to tackle a new Weekend Cleaning Challenge with me? Itâs one of those tasks that doesnât take a lot of time or effort, and yet most of us just keep putting it off for no particular reason. (Itâs times like these I ask myself, âWhy am I like this?â) Jillee TODAY'S GOOD THING Sweet Relief From Seasonal Allergies [Left: Jillee blowing her nose into a tissue. Right: A close-up of Jillee holding a bottle of All Clear.]( Meet All Clear, a new tool that makes a great addition to your allergy relief arsenal. [Scientists have confirmed]( that pollen is more abundant than ever, much to the chagrin of allergy sufferers. If your allergy symptoms have been worsening, then you might be as excited as me that Iâm launching a new essential oil blend today specifically for allergy relief! I invited my daughter Britta to share her thoughts about the new [All Clear Essential Oil Blend](. Since I donât experience allergies myself (knock on wood), she was integral to the research and development that went into this blend. She writes: âHi OGT readers! Unlike my mom, I not only experience seasonal allergies, but it seems like they get a little bit worse every year. I take a once-a-day allergy pill that helps, but it doesnât really cut it when my symptoms are really bad (like âcanât breathe through my nose or open my eyes very muchâ bad). On those occasions, I reach for two things: my diffuser, and my bottle of [All Clear](. The oils in this blend help me breathe more easily and reduce inflammation in my nose and around my eyes. Sometimes my nose gets so stuffy that it keeps me awake at night, but now I just diffuse All Clear and it makes a huge difference.â How All Clear Blend Works To Relieve Allergies The new All Clear blend features several oils that can help relieve congestion, irritation, and other unpleasant allergy symptoms. Eucalyptus oil does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to relieving respiratory symptoms and making breathing easier, as does the boost of menthol you get from the peppermint oil. Several of the oils in All Clear also have anti-inflammatory properties, including tea tree, rosemary, and lemon. Not only do they assist in soothing inflamed nasal passages, but they also help reduce the inflammation that contributes to puffy and itchy eyes. (And as an added bonus, the essential oils from citrus fruits and fresh herbs just smell really nice together!) [Jillee pouring oil in to a diffuser]( How To Use All Clear The best way to use All Clear to get relief from allergy symptoms is in a diffuser. You can do it any time, but Britta has found it especially helpful to diffuse it on her nightstand at bedtime and overnight. She says: "Even my husband Neil, who is normally pretty skeptical of this kind of thing, knows how much of a difference it makes to have All Clear in my diffuser when my allergies are acting up. When Iâm feeling particularly miserable, heâll even take the initiative to set up my diffuser on my nightstand and fill it with All Clear so all I have to do is turn it on when Iâm ready for bed." [Don't have a diffuser? Here are some alternatives](. I have every confidence that you'll find [All Clear]( to be just as helpful for keeping your allergy symptoms in check as Britta has! While heavily trafficked areas like your entryway and living room might get vacuumed regularly, there are other, harder-to-reach areas of your home where dirt and dust bunnies often accumulate. Thatâs why this weekend, Iâm issuing the challenge to clean out your window sills, window tracks, curtains, etc. On the bright side, most of these areas are easy to vacuum, though you might find it helpful to make like MacGyver and fashion yourself a makeshift tool to help get into all the nooks and crannies. You can make a DIY crevice attachment from [drinking straws]( or you can make one using a [cardboard tube]( from a roll of paper towels or toilet paper. Once you've cleared all the dust and dirt out of your window sills and tracks, use your vacuum's upholstery brush to pull dust out of your curtains and to clean around any window fans or A/C units. After that, reward yourself for a job well done and for conquering another Weekend Cleaning Challenge! SAVE MONEY Now Is The Best Time To Buy These 4 Things [Top left: A cupboard with bowls in it. I had looked at hundreds of dresses online, but had only managed to find a picture of a dress in a color and style I liked (thank you, Pinterest). Unfortunately for me, that Pinterest picture didnât link anywhere useful, so I was worried I had hit a dead end. But then it occurred to me to try Google Lens to see what it could drum up for me elsewhere online. I scanned the picture with Google Lens, and within seconds it brought up several similar dresses with links to where I could buy them. I ended up buying one right then and there, so Google Lens really saved the day! I highly recommend it when something you want to buy is sold out or otherwise unavailable. Additionally, Britta told me she used Google Lens in Iceland to translate Icelandic food and drink labels on the fly. She said that even when the translation wasnât perfect, it was close enough to get the gist of it. And as if all that weren't enough, Lens can also tell you about locations, plants, animals, and even help with homework. For iPhone users, Google Lens is built into the [Google app in the App Store](. For Android users, look for the [Lens app in the Google Play Store](. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
