It’s a story of a multigenerational Montana family whose life was completely upended because of Gov. Gianforte and his millionaire land-development allies: Just a few weeks ago, I received a call from a distraught Montana woman, nearly in tears when I picked up. Her voice was filled with concern — concern for her husband, their three young boys, and the ranch their family has called home for 5 generations. It wasn’t until recently that a personal friend of Gianforte — a multimillionaire real-estate developer — started buying up all the property around these folks. He shut off access to hay roads and irrigation ditches this family has relied on for more than a century. He put up massive fences to herd local wildlife, and flashed his money and power around the county to get regulations changed so he could subdivide and develop a slate of mansions-for-sale right next to these folk’s ranch. When confronted by the woman who called me, he responded, “What are you gonna do? Gianforte is a friend of mine…and we’re doing this.” These folks are scared. They’re tired. Tired of power-hungry rich guys being welcomed by Gianforte and his big tax breaks for his wealthy friends. Tired of Montana’s long-respected traditions and rules being thrown out by selfish money-men who have no regard for everyday people like you and me. Their story is the quintessential Montana tale — a simple desire to live a life true to the Last Best Place. But it’s a glimpse into the future. A tale of what we can expect if Gianforte is given another 4 years. I stand with the family who called me, with you, and with every Montanan who refuses to let Gianforte and his wealthy buddies destroy our state. Together, we'll protect Montana's heart and soul. But he also saw how unchecked extremism could take away American freedoms and even jeopardize our democracy. Ryan sees the same thing happening to Montana: wealthy extremist Greg Gianforte bought his seat with his own millions, and now he’s raising our taxes, making Montana unaffordable, defunding our public schools, locking up our public lands, hijacking our freedoms and rigging the system for the rich. Ryan is running as an advocate for ALL Montanans and as a champion for our Montana way of life. »]( MONTHLY »]( MORE »]( UP FOR EMAILS »]( PAID FOR BY BUSSE FOR MONTANA • DEMOCRAT • PO BOX 8537 • KALISPELL, MT 59904 If you would like to unsubscribe, click here: [unsubscribe]( To receive less email from us, [click here](.
