Many ancient thinkers, from the Stoics in the west to the Buddhists and Taoists in the east, speak about how we can gain peace by changing the way we think. Even today, the basic concept of changing the way we engage with our thoughts in order to change our experience of the world influences modern therapy techniques and the language of self-help books. The Bullet Journal method is no exception. A big component of the Bullet Journal method is capturing our thoughts and learning to recognize, as we go through our routines, what about our thoughts and to-do lists are actually essential to us. By capturing and examining our thoughts, we change the way we engage with them. In our [latest video]( we talk about how we can bring meditation into your Bullet Journal practice through the 40 Days of Meditation experiment. Meditation Made Simple With the Bullet Journal Method I get asked a lot about how does meditation fits into Bullet Journaling, and for me, both are about navigating our mind. When I first looked into meditation about a decade ago, my goal was to have a more placid, lake-like mind. The idea that meditation gets rid of thoughts is an easy misconception to make. But the most advanced meditation teachers that I've ever had the privilege to work never claim to not have thoughts. It's just how you engage with them. Changing the way we engage with thoughts is a big part of what we do at Bullet Journal. By capturing our thoughts, we become aware of our thoughts. As part of our monthly experiments, we're bringing some of these ideas and theories into your everyday Bullet Journal practice with our 40 Days of Meditation. And we're going to do that all together.
