Here's what's new and what to expect: We're making our pricing more predictable and easier to understand. On March 23, 2022, we’re introducing a new set of plans (at a similar or lower price point) that will use the number of items in your database and monthly unique daily visitors instead of capacity as a primary metric. We are making these changes to provide clearer, more predictable pricing for our users as their applications scale up. Here are some benefits of our new approach: - Predictable costs for smarter long-term planning - More capacity and features on the main cluster - More uptime for fast growing apps - Ability to scale your apps with more end users and data We explain further in this [forum post]( about why we're making this change and what the impact for applications on current paid plans will be (in short: for existing paid apps, nothing changes for you until at least the end of the year). Why the change? Based on feedback over the years, Bubble's old pricing model based on capacity tended to cause confusion. We originally introduced capacity as a non-technical term that encompassed general costs for hosting apps. However, we’ve realized capacity is opaque, and it can be hard for our users to forecast their apps' activity, resulting in downtime if you hit your capacity limits. What's new? A new set of plans In a week, we'll introduce new Personal, Professional and Production plans at a similar or lower price. We're introducing two new metrics for these plans: monthly unique daily visitors and database items/things. These new plans also offer significantly more capacity (15 units on Personal, up to 35 on Production), so that apps rarely hit limits. Overages instead of outages New Professional and Production plans will now have access to overages. Previously, with capacity, if you hit your limit, your app would become unavailable. We recognize that scaling businesses need a more flexible model that can accommodate surges in traffic without interrupting service, so we are now allowing pay-as-you-go overages if you exceed plan limits. Other changes We've also incorporated user feedback into other aspects of our pricing: - We’re reducing the Production plan price from $529/month to $359/month, as we’ve heard repeatedly that the gap between Professional and Production plans was too large. - We are offering 4 collaborators on the new Professional plan (compared to 2 on the old plan) to enable teams to iterate faster with more collaboration. - We’re significantly reducing the cost of additional storage, at $10 per 100GB (10 times cheaper than on current plans). - We're also introducing the concept of custom pricing for applications with particularly high usage patterns. We value the trust that you’ve placed in us by building your app on Bubble, and we want to make sure this pricing change works out for everyone. We are confident that for the vast majority of applications, this change is net beneficial and will lead to clearer, more predictable pricing as your application scales up. That said, we are aware that there are some applications which may have particular usage patterns that lead to a significantly different price. If you fall into this category, we’ll be reaching out to you over the next several months to discuss your situation and find a way to make sure you are able to continue using Bubble. You’re also welcome to reach out to us at [support@bubble.io](mailto:support@bubble.io?subject=Re%3A%20Bubble's%20new%20pricing%20system) at any time. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
