Colin?s note: Artificial intelligence is going to transform the movie industry? And that?s bad

[The Bleeding Edge]( Colin’s note: Artificial intelligence is going to transform the movie industry… And that’s bad news for Hollywood. After all, we all remember what happened to Blockbuster… We know what’s happening to cable and satellite subscriptions as more people “cut the cord” in favor of streaming… When you can’t keep up with the pace of innovation, you get left behind. And AI is the name of the innovation game. It won’t be long before you can star in a movie of your own design alongside your favorite actors and actresses all thanks to advancements in AI. I get into some of the big changes coming to the movie industry in today’s video. Just click below to watch… Or read the transcript below. And, as always, you can let us know what you think at feedback@brownstoneresearch.com. --------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone, Colin Tedards here. With 2024 just around the corner, it's shaping up to be another landmark year for AI advancements. As we close out this year, we're going to be pinpointing industries that AI is about to turn completely upside down. And we need to be ready for this one… You all remember Blockbuster video, streaming video, and cable television. We’ve seen this type of disruption before. But now, we're on the cusp of an AI revolution that's gearing up to be even more impactful. So, buckle up Hollywood. You’re in the crosshairs of AI and it’s about to take this industry down for good! It’s no secret that Hollywood has been on the ropes for a while now. For years, audience levels and profits have been steadily shrinking at the major Hollywood studios. Let’s face it, the industry has been feeding us a boring diet of the same superhero storylines for more than a decade now. [PREPARE NOW.]( -- On top of the stale storylines, consumers have an endless stream of free content on social media sites like TikTok and YouTube. If smartphones and social media were the opening act of Hollywood’s demise, AI will be the main attraction that puts the traditional movie-making business in a tailspin. The capabilities surrounding AI and filmmaking are rapidly getting more advanced… So let’s check out some of the tools just starting to be introduced that will spell the end of Hollywood. Computers capable of upscaling fairly generic graphics into realistic scenes and characters are getting insanely good. Take a look at this example of a tool called Magnific.ai transforming a low-resolution drawing into a realistic character. These tools are not only incredibly powerful… they’re also incredibly simple to use. It’s like Microsoft Paint on steroids. I wish I had this as a kid. Now, I understand these are just still graphics. But turning these graphics into a realistic movie scene is getting easier too. And we should see huge advancements in 2024 when computing power becomes more widely available and cheaper. Using a tool from Stability AI you can already transform a still image into a fully animated scene by just providing instructions via text. Some people are calling this “text-to-movie.” One of Hollywood’s last remaining moats is its ability to create complicated visual effects… And it’s about to come to an end. Soon, anyone will be able to create cinema-quality movie scenes with just a laptop or cell phone. Possibly the most impressive demo I’ve seen recently is from Pika Labs. This company is advertising the ability to not only generate video from text but edit it as well. He calls it the One Ticker Retirement Plan… And it takes less than 10 seconds to demonstrate. [Watch it here.]( -- The visual effects that will be available to any filmmaker on the planet will be mind-blowing. Soon, we’ll be entering a world where custom AI-generated movies can embed you – yes, you – into the leading role. I’d watch that over the 19th Marvel superhero movie with the same storyline and ending. We’re talking about AI-generated movies with dynamic storylines that change depending on your mood and liking. Movie stars like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Denzel Washington will license their likeness so you and your friends can co-star in a movie right alongside them. I know media stocks like Disney, Warner Brothers, and Paramount might look attractive based on how much they’ve gone down… But they’re down for good reason. Fewer consumers will pay for cinema-quality content when it’s freely available online. And there’s only so much in ad dollars to go around to support all this free content. Instead, I’d rather invest in the semiconductor sector and data centers that will be powering the AI-generated entertainment revolution. Hollywood was already in big trouble. AI will be its final act. My name is Colin Tedards, and that was The Bleeding Edge. I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you again soon. --------------------------------------------------------------- Like what you’re reading?
