[Half Waif - The Caretaker](
Times are hard right now -- physically, mentally, emotionally and financially, but we want to start by taking a second to give thanks for two things today: great new music and a BrooklynVegan newsletter sponsor. Half Waif's [new album The Caretaker]( falls into both of those categories. We are long on record as big fans of Half Waif, and her new album is yet another one worth hearing. Please [click this link]( to stream and purchase it from the service of your choice in support of independent media and one of our favorite newer artists. And check out our Half Waif review in today's edition of [Notable Releases](. Here's an excerpt:
"Itâs a massive-sounding art pop album that recalls anything from Kate Bush to Kid A, and itâs bursting at the seams with big hooks and limitless ambition. Her synth-fueled music can often sound as fleshed out as a many-membered orchestra, but Half Waif remains a true solo auteur. Sheâs as good a producer as she is a singer/songwriter, and going by [The Caretaker]( it sounds like sheâs only getting better at all of it."
Also notably released today:
