Did you get My Blood Valentine tickets? Did you score My Bloody Valentine tickets? We would've loved

Did you get My Blood Valentine tickets? Did you score My Bloody Valentine tickets? [View this email in your browser]( [BrooklynVegan Weekly]( We would've loved to have been in the house for this year's [White House Correspondents' Dinner](. Michelle Wolf ([who has a new Netflix talk show on the way]( and who performs stand up comedy [many nights a week around NYC]( and [sometimes on HBO]( was this year's entertainer, and she spent 20 minutes roasting everyone - neither Democrats nor Republicans were spared. There were barbs for Donald Trump, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Kellyanne Conway, and Ivanka Trump - among others (though unfortunately her list did not include [Kanye West]( - whoop-di-scoop-di-poop?). Luckily you can [watch the whole thing HERE](. Of course, not everyone was a fan - former press secretary Sean Spicer called Michelle's remarks "a disgrace," to which she responded, "thank you!" Kathy Griffin, who has been [no stranger to controversy herself]( got it. In somewhat related news, a judge in NYC has ordered that [it's ok to kick Trump supporters out of a bar](. [Cardi B Cancels Shows due to Pregnancy]( Cardi B had a crazy week. With [two weeks of Coachella performances]( behind her, Cardi announced that she'd be [cancelling her upcoming shows]( [Panorama]( included, due to her advancing pregnancy. Cardi's maternity leave will be over in time for her to [hit the road with Bruno Mars]( in September. That isn't all, though - we also found out that Cardi's former manager, and one of the cowriters of "Bodak Yellow," is [suing her for $10 million](. [$20 Tickets from Livenation]( April is almost over and summer is almost here. So many concerts to get out and see, and Live Nation is again running their [National Concert Week promotion]( which starts April 30 at 8 AM, means [$20 "all-in" (aka service fees included) tickets to over 2000 concerts]( including Arcade Fire, Beck, Dead & Company, Paramore, Slayer, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Bon Jovi, The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer/Pixies, Janet Jackson and more. [If This Knowledge Scares You, The Equation Is Working at Red Bull Music Festival]( The end of April also means it's time for [Red Bull Music Festival]( (fka Red Bull Music Academy) to return to NYC. [This year's lineup]( of shows is stacked, as usual. It all kicks off on May 3 at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport with a stacked $10 show called [If This Knowledge Scares You, The Equation Is Working](. The bill features artists influenced “directly or spiritually” by the late graffiti-writer, artist and MC RAMMΣLLZΣΣ: NYC rap leader Wiki in collaboration with the legendary Coati Mundi (of Kid Creole and the Coconuts and more) with visuals by Arvid Logan, plus punk-rap group Show Me The Body, Wiki’s Ratking groupmate Sporting Life, producer Tony Seltzer, avant-rap duo 700 Bliss (aka Moor Mother and DJ Haram), the soulful Mal Devisa, and alt-rap vet (and Wiki collaborator) Edan (“on disk jokk and echo duties”). [Tickets]( are on sale now. MIKE and Standing on the Corner are also releasing an EP together, and you can [listen to the first single]( now. [My Bloody Valentine North American Tour]( My Bloody Valentine [announced their first US shows in 5 years]( - did you get tickets? An [opera based on Fugazi stage banter]( is hitting multiple cities. Lots of other bands announced tours and shows over the past week too, including [Judas Priest with Deep Purple]( [Garbage]( (celebrating the 20th anniversary of Version 2.0), [Grouper]( [The Goon Sax]( [Florence + The Machine]( [The Horrors]( [Fleetwood Mac]( (minus Lindsey Buckingham), [Blood Orange]( [Simple Minds]( [A Perfect Circle]( [Arctic Monkeys]( [Neil Young & Crazyhorse]( (their first shows in 4 years!) and [Violent Femmes with Echo & The Bunnymen](. Find the latest in our [daily tour roundup](. On the festival front, [Life is Beautiful]( dropped their 2018 lineup, led by Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine, The Weeknd, St. Vincent, Blood Orange and more. The [Athens Popfest]( lineup is out too - Guided by Voices, The Mummies, Ex Hex, and more will play. J. Cole released an album, and he's [throwing a festival of his own, Dreamville]( - stay tuned for the lineup. Single day lineups and [tickets]( are out for The National's NYC festival, [There's No Leaving New York](. Levitation is going down in Austin this weekend (stay tuned for our coverage). UK doom legends Electric Wizard was a serious lineup highlight, and they [have a few more U.S. shows to play]( including one at [Playstation Theater in NYC]( with just-announced opener Cough. Meanwhile, if you're heading to a concert, Alvvays have a PSA: [keep your hands to yourself, or "please stay home."]( [Archies Comics are full of punk and indie rock]( Archie Comics have had close musical ties for a long time now. The current series, The Archies, began in 2017 and focuses on the fictional titular band - who also wind up crossing paths with some real-life bands, like Blondie and Tegan & Sara. That's just the beginning of the [punk and indie rock we found in The Archies]( with easter eggs and hat-tips from the likes of Title Fight (see their name on the shirt above), Speedy Ortiz, Radiohead, Hop Along, The Pixies, Waxahatchee, The Clash and more. [Janelle Monae's 'Dirty Computer' film]( Not only is Janelle Monae's great new album Dirty Computer out now, so is its accompanying [45-minute long "emotion picture."]( The Dirty Computer film stars Janelle herself along with Tessa Thompson, Jayson Aaron, and others. You can also [read our review]( of Dirty Computer, along with four other [Notable Releases]( from this week. You can also check out [Bill's Indie Basement]( for even more new (or classic) music each week. If you're in NYC, [check out tonight's live shows]( (updated each and every day along with our year-round show calendar) We posted about lots more this week, too - visit [BrooklynVegan.com]( for all this and more.
