[BrooklynVegan Weekly](
As you've probably heard, Coachella weekend one is upon us (and if you haven't, we kind of envy the rock you're hiding under). [Friday]( started out with a killer new live show from St. Vincent, guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, who came out for SZA and Vince Staples, and more - [check out our pictures and recap](. If you're sweating it out in Indio this weekend, we hope you wear plenty of sunscreen and drink lots of water (and [watch out for that wind]( - and [that yodeling kid](
If not, we invite you to do what we're doing, and [stream sets live]( from the comfort of home. Beyonce's headlining set will stream on Saturday night (YASSSS), as will David Byrne, Fleet Foxes, Angel Olsen, Alvvays, and others. For ideas of who to stream (or see), check out our [guide to this year's Coachella]( preferably while listening to our [Spotify playlist]( of the artists we're most excited for.
If you're in [NYC, check out tonight's live shows]( (updated each and every day along with our year-round show calendar).
[Cardi B - Invasion of Privacy](
One of the Coachella sets we're most looking forward to is Cardi B, who recently dropped her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. No rapper had a bigger breakout year in 2017 than Cardi, and her much-anticipated debut more than meets the sky high expectations we had for it. [Read our review HERE](.
Of course, Coachella isn't this week's only big news. [Lindsey Buckingham is parting ways with Fleetwood Mac]( - he's being replaced by Mike Campbell (of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (of Crowded House). Can you imagine seeing Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey?
[One of the craziest stories we heard this week]( is this one about TJ Miller, who was arrested on Monday in New York's La Guardia Airport, for calling in an allegedly false bomb threat. He faces up to five years in prison - yikes.
[Broad City's final season](
[Pour one out for Broad City]( whose upcoming fifth season will be their last. We'll miss queens Abbi and Ilana, but on the plus side, the pair signed a development deal with Comedy Central for future material.
[The National presents: There's No Leaving New York](
The National throw their inaugural [Homecoming Festival]( (which includes them playing Boxer in full on night two) later this month in Cincinnati, and they're presenting a second new festival in September as well! [There's No Leaving New York]( happens across two days at NYC's Forest Hills Stadium, and along with The National themselves, Future Islands, Jason Isbell, Cat Power, Phoebe Bridgers, U.S. Girls, Bully and more are playing. [Get more details, and enter to win tickets, HERE](.
In other festival news, [Float Fest]( announced their lineup, as did [Outside Lands](. [Firefly]( revealed their daily lineups, and Brooklyn's [Northside Festival]( released their initial lineup, with more to come. Part of the initial announcement: the [BrooklynVegan Northside Showcase]( at Elsewhere on June 9, with Protomartyr, Deerhoof, and more to be announced. We hope to see you there!
[Nick Cave on tour](
[Nick Cave announced some new tour dates]( for this fall as well, including shows in NYC, LA, Washington DC, and Toronto. These are in addition to his ["Conversations with Nick Cave"]( shows, which start at the end of this month. Hope you've been preparing your questions; as Nick says, "the more frank and intimate the questions, the more interesting the evening will be."
Speaking of [TOURS]( it's easier than ever to keep up with announced shows (no matter where you live) thanks to [our new daily tour roundups](.
[Sparta: new song and tour](
Jim Ward is no longer in At the Drive In, but he's reactivated Sparta, who [released a new single, "Cat Scream," and announced a tour](.
One of Sparta's shows is happening in NJ at the renovated and newly-reopened [Asbury Lanes]( which is now being [booked by Bowery Presents](. Check out the [initial lineup]( which includes Ted Leo, Kurt Vile, Phoebe Bridgers, Thursday and more.
Speaking of At the Drive In, they're heading out on tour too - with System of a Down, who are playing their [first US shows in three years](.
[Janelle Monae - PYNK](
Janelle Monae released one of our favorite new songs of the week with "PYNK," which features harmonies from Grimes. Tessa Thompson (from Westworld) appears in the video, and as the name suggests, it's heavy on the color pink. It's also a typically excellent addition to Janelle Monae's collection of music videos; [watch it HERE](.
Kamasi Washington shared two new songs from his upcoming double album, Heaven and Earth, a title he has an interesting and rather metaphysical explanation for: "âThe world that my mind lives in, lives in my mind.â This idea inspired me to make this album Heaven and Earth." Kamasi has a bunch of upcoming shows, including Coachella - [listen to the new songs and see those tour dates HERE](.
We posted about lots more this week, too - visit [BrooklynVegan.com]( for all this and more. Don't forget to check out this week's [Five Notable Releases]( as well as [Bill's Indie Basement]( for a recap of the week in classic indie, college rock, and more.
