Be one of the first to read out transition report! [Brooke Lierman]( Today, I am excited to share with you [our transition report]( This report was put together by more than 100 respected Marylanders, from every background, who volunteered their time to serve on our transition team policy committees. I am also grateful to the hundreds of Marylanders who shared their thoughts and ideas, both through written feedback and virtual presentations to the committees. As the 34th Comptroller of Maryland, I am committed now to reimagining how this office can build communities that are more equitable, more resilient, and more prosperous. This report represents a new starting point for our agency – and I’m excited to get going. The recommendations in this report are huge opportunities – but also heavy lifts. The Office of the Comptroller faces major challenges including outdated facilities, underpaid employees, and ancient (or absent) technology. I am dedicated to working with our new leadership team, all staff, the General Assembly, and our new Governor to find ways to move beyond the hurdles we face so that the Office of the Comptroller can be all that Marylanders need it to be. I’d like to send a special thank you to Comptroller Franchot, County Executive Alsobrooks, and Secretary of State Lee who served as the honorary co-chairs of the transition committee, Candace Dodson-Reed, Del. Peña-Melnyk, and Treasurer Kopp who served as working co-chairs, and Dani DiPietro who served as the transition coordinator. My Best, (she/her/hers) --------------------------------------------------------------- [Brooke Lierman]( Authorized by Brooke Lierman for Maryland; Chairman, Alvin Lee; Treasurer, Candace Dodson-Reed.
