Today, I’m officially taking the oath of office to become the first woman independently elected

Today, I’m officially taking the oath of office to become the first woman independently elected to one of Maryland’s three statewide constitutional offices. {NAME}, Today, I’m officially taking the oath of office to become the first woman independently elected to one of Maryland’s three statewide constitutional offices. Thanks to your support, I am shattering a glass ceiling here in Maryland as Comptroller, and I am committed to ensuring I am not the last. This morning, before I take the oath of office, I will participate in service activities as part of the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. In a time when marginalized groups are still facing the effects of long-standing inequities, Dr. King’s work should inspire us all to keep working toward a more fair and just society for everyone. [Photo of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a quote that says "Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."]( Our state and economy should work for all Marylanders, regardless of race or economic status. Everyone deserves equitable access to opportunities and a path to success, and as Comptroller, I will do all I can to deliver for all Marylanders. My best, (She, Her, Hers) --------------------------------------------------------------- Authorized by Brooke Lierman for Maryland; Chairman, Alvin Lee; Treasurer, Candace Dodson-Reed.
