In this latest entry, a unique narrative framework woven together by historic characters—including composer James Reese Europe, combat pilot Quentin Roosevelt, nurse and writer Vera Brittain, and military officer Charles Whittlesey—offers a fascinating lens through which to examine the end of World War I. The beloved Orchestra of St. Luke’s and several stars of Broadway anchor an energetic performance. With Monsky’s signature blend of meticulously researched history, rare archival film and photography, and works by composers from James Reese Europe to Irving Berlin, this will be a thoroughly engaging exploration of a pivotal point in time.
