[It's Official: Javier Munoz Will Take Over in HAMILTON When Lin-Manuel Miranda Departs in July]
As BroadwayWorld previously reported, HAMILTON leading man Lin-Manuel Miranda will be exiting the show on July 9 to focus on his upcoming projects, including the starring role in Disney's MARY POPPINS opposite Emily Blunt. In?a Heatstreet report?last month, it was speculated that he will be replaced by his current alternate, Javier Mu?oz, who steps in for Miranda on Sunday matinees. It appears that the rumors are true, because now they've been confirmed by Miranda himself. He told Washington Post reviewer Peter Marks:
