[[Palace Theater Looking For Inspiring People Over 50 To Tell Their Stories For New Fall Series]Palace Theater Looking For Inspiring People Over 50 To Tell Their Stories For New Fall Series](
by BWW News Desk
A chance meeting last year with a charismatic sixty-eight year old, Litchfield county woman, who after thirty years as a personal trainer, discovered her voice and talent as a playwright and actor at age 65, was the impetus for a new series beginning this fall at the Palace Theater. After meeting Nancy Schuler, the theater's Marketing and Public Relations Officer, Sheree Marcucci envisioned putting a series together featuring presentations by people who had realized their own second acts after age fifty and could now share their story and inspire others to do the same. Thus, Second Act was born and is set to kick-off in September with the first of a nine presentation speaker series that will include a lightdinner or brunch for attendees.

[[BWW Review: THE AGE OF INNOCENCE at Hartford Stage]BWW Review: THE AGE OF INNOCENCE at Hartford Stage](
by Joseph Harrison
Passion, scandal, love (both requited and unrequited), and regret are emotions fraught with pain and joy. They are also timeless experiences - as relatable today as they were a hundred years ago. Such is the case with Edith Wharton's THE AGE OF INNOCENCE which has been adapted for the stage by Douglas McGrath and is the latest production from Hartford Stage (in association with the McCarter Theatre Center.) The play, based on Ms. Wharton's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, provides a lavish setting for the tale of one man torn between propriety and passion, and the fixed and proper world of New York society at the end of the 19th century.
