Can we take a minute to talk about the "new normal" of hair and beauty during COVID?! [View this email in your browser]( My tricks to cutting your own hair [💇🏻] This week officially marks five months of the COVID shutdowns. I'm not sure about you, but I'm oddly adapting to this new normal. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a deep meditation, learning how to stop the grueling anxiety of thoughts like "When will this be over?" and "Will life ever be normal again?" -- mostly because no one knows, so why bother freaking myself out about it? All we can do is learn to live in the present: to love our families better, hide in closets for quiet Zoom calls, tell our friends we love them and miss them, and figure out how to help others in need. All that said, can we take a minute to talk about the "new normal" of hair and beauty during COVID?! Gone are the days I wear full makeup. These days, I'm all about a tinted moisturizer and some good old mascara to wake my eyes up. Plus LOTS of sunscreen since I'm outdoors so much more. As for hair, I think I've found my hidden talent as a barber! For real, I've now cut my husband's hair three times, my children's hair twice, my own hair twice (even with face frame layers) and my dog's hair once (that one was admittedly the worst 'do). [This YouTube video of the "Unicorn Haircut"]( was my inspiration for my own hair. As for my husband's and kid's hair, I usually [follow this diagram]( for scissor cuts, then clean things up with a bare clipper at the end. Despite the fact that I found my first gray hair (ahh!), I'm letting my balayage highlights grow out and using a LOT of dry shampoo on lazy days when I don't feel like washing. Hey, it's harder to tell if your hair is greasy on Zoom, right!? How are you holding up? Any hacks you've tried for your makeup, hair or skin? Shoot me a reply!
