Our new offers feature is available now to give sellers and high bidders another opportunity to make a deal [Alternate text]( Hi {NAME}, Reserve Not Met—that’s the last thing anyone wants to see at the end of a BaT auction, whether seller, high bidder, watcher, or BaT staffer. To date, our process has been to put the high bidder and seller in touch and let the chips fall where they may—an experience we wanted to simplify, standardize, and improve. After much discussion and effort, we’re excited to roll out a new process that will help more buyers and more sellers achieve success in their BaT auctions. Beginning this week, following any “reserve not met” result, the highest bidder will be given a period of 24 hours to make their best offer directly to the seller. The seller will then have an additional 24 hours to either accept that offer, or make their best counteroffer. These interactions occur in a secure environment for desktop and mobile users alike, and the back-and-forth will be limited to one round apiece to keep the negotiations straightforward and efficient. What’s more, the resulting transactions can be conducted through our [Verified Checkout process]( where eligible. [Alternate text]( If the process successfully ends with a deal between buyer and seller, we’ll update the auction page with the result and add the sale to our vast trove of auction data. The standard 5% BaT buyer’s fee (capped at the usual $7,500) will apply to the transaction. For more information, see the [BaT FAQ](. This new feature will help simplify the post-auction experience and make BaT an even better place for interesting vehicles to find new homes. As always, we’d love to hear your impressions once it’s been rolled out. Feel free to drop any suggestions and other constructive feedback in the comments on our [site post](.
