I’ll lead the battle against gun violence, and stand with our public safety leaders to keep our communities safe. And I will always unapologetically advocate for our fundamental freedoms like reproductive rights, and do everything I can to STOP the GOP’s plan to ban abortion nationally. But the sad truth of it is, those things don’t matter to my opponent. He doesn’t believe in national protections for reproductive rights, and he’s called me an extremist for standing up for every American’s fundamental right to make their own healthcare decisions. He wants to expand drilling for oil — including on protected federal lands — even though Eastern Long Island is being hit by some of the worst effects of climate change. And at a time when we should be pushing for greater participation in our democracy, he wants to make it harder for New York voters to cast their ballot. My opponent will not stand up for the people of this district, {NAME}. But if we pull together right now, we can fend off his attacks, keep him out of Congress, and get Long Island families the common-sense Democratic leadership they deserve.
