I watched in horror as violent extremists attacked the foundation of our democracy by attempting to overturn the results of a free and fair election. While our current representative Lee Zeldin embraced Donald Trump’s stolen election lie before and after the mayhem, I knew it was time for change. January 6, 2021 is the day I decided to run for Congress and be that change. After 10 months of investigation into this deplorable act of sedition, the House select committee on the January 6th attack is launching public, televised hearings starting tonight. We will learn how this attack on our democracy was started and what role Trump and his extremist cronies played in orchestrating the failed insurrection. It’s never been more critical to send representatives to Congress who genuinely believe in free and fair elections and the peaceful transition of power.
