the story behind GrowthDay  [Brendon pic](  "I believe personal growth is the moral imperative of every human alive..."  {NAME} - Just 13 months ago, I launched GrowthDay. You've been with me for a while, so I thought I'd tell the story. And with so many new people are joining GrowthDay right now, from around the globe, that I thought I'd share WHY we do this. Why it's so important to me, personally. To our team and community. And to share how it helps people so much. It's Sunday, so a conversation about PURPOSE and MISSION seems relevant! This is a longer note than usual, but I love you and hope you'll read it. Our mission at GrowthDay is to make self-improvement a way of life for every person on the planet. In so many ways, that's been the driving purpose of most of my adult life. Because, as you probably know, this is personal for me. Depression and a car accident at 19 years old inspired my own personal development journey and obsession with human behavior change. Every day of those 26 years since, I’ve lived to give the gift of growth to others. That's how I personally feel like I've lived, loved and mattered. Prior to GrowthDay, I spent almost two decades, full-time, as a personal development writer, coach, trainer and online thought leader. I was blessed with over 500m video views. 100m downloads. 6m fans. 3 New York Times bestsellers. 2 courses with Oprah's network. 3m students in my courses. The biggest teams in the world - corporate and sports - using my high performance work. I was doing the "personal brand" thing. So many ups and downs of joys and struggles, but I achieved dreams I never even hoped for. And so when I started GrowthDay, a lot of people asked WHY DUDE? WTF? Why take all the risk to start a software company... ... in the middle of a pandemic? It costs millions to start something like that - and tens of millions to make it work - are you crazy?! I heard it over and over in some variation: "You're already good, man, why take on all the risk and hassles of software, team, finance, dev, and starting up all over again in a harder market?" Well, for 3 reasons: 1. Bringing it all together. For almost a decade, our customers and clients were asking for an all-in-one app. They wanted my assessments, courses, habits and tools all in one place. That was an obvious way to serve, but I'll be honest, I wasn't excited about building an app for a long time. It's just a very different business model and team. But it was in my mind... 2. Bringing more voices to this space. I love being a personal brand and along the way I was privileged enough to build a huge platform. But my social media has always been a collection of my writings and teachings. Unless you came to one of my eight events per year, or were part of my private groups in the industry, you probably didn't see me elevating other people to the stage, something that's been important to me since I began. After the racial strife and ongoing realities of these last few years, I realized it was time to build a new brand where I had the opportunity to bring more diverse coaches and voices to this space. I knew something like GrowthDay would give me that platform to do so. That's why we have so many amazingly talented and diverse coaches already and we're just starting. Someday, God willing, there will be a leading voice of personal development in every country in the world on GrowthDay. 3. Bringing an app and AI to the world. I can only travel and serve so much. Our teachers and coaches can only reach so many. But software can be everywhere. We can reach more people around the world with software. We can use software to personalize your experience, learn what you want and need, make better content and recommendations, and, one day, talk to you and help you through life's struggles. I want to help shape that future of personal growth, and I knew I'd need a team of people way way way way smarter than me to achieve it. So, Denise and I made the call. We poured our money into it. I reorganized my entire worklife. I found great leaders and started hiring. I don't know if you know this, but we started on Independence Day last year, 2021. We're really brand new. We're learning so much and we've appreciated your patience and support and incredible reviews and kindness and enthusiasm and progress. What we're already doing makes such a huge difference. GrowthDay proprietary tools, assessments and
coaching are built on research-backed approaches that are predictive of: > happiness > confidence > productivity > income > influence > courage > resilience > quality of interpersonal relationships > engagement and excellence in work quality > success in comparison to peers over the long term > life satisfaction! Every day we get testimonials talking about these types of impact. When you realize we help people like that, it's not just a job, it's a tremendous calling. Humbly, I know I am insufficient for this calling. And so it's all about team and mentors and someday investors and, yes, for me, a LOT of personal, professional and spiritual development. Here at GrowthDay, we're already 60 people who wake up every morning to bring you the tools, coaching, conversations, classes, and community that can help you live an extraordinary life. We already have 9 world-class coaches, one who goes live every week for you in Pro membership. So stick with us, I promise you'll be amazed at what's coming. And I hope you love what we've already built in one year. If you do, a review on the app stores means so much to us. What's next for me personally? I'm still hungry to learn and serve. I have a high psychological necessity to help others grow. I have a huge purposeful ambition to build the first global brand in this re-imagined category. I want to win now, and I also want to build the AI future of personal growth. It's really hard hard work. It feels like we're learning huge things every day and we need to win at serving you even better. We need to win at platform, AI, international expansion, enterprise. I know we will need your support and patience to build all this. I know I will need mentoring to do it. I know our team works so hard for you, and we will humbly learn a lot and screw up a lot as we take on such and audacious purpose. I don't think I've ever meditated and prayed so much in my lifetime than these last two years conceiving this for you. Why care about this SO MUCH? Because I believe personal growth is the moral imperative of every human alive. We just can’t have social impact without self-improvement. We can’t change the world without teaching people personal change. We can't improve our families and communities unless we learn to improve ourselves. I hope one day we do a good enough job that you really sense the purposeful work and community we are all building here. When we make every day a growth day, we slowly and humbly do our part in changing the destiny of all. Personal growth is behind e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g we discuss when we say the word growth. That’s why it's a multi-trillion-dollar market—everything you see in education, mental health, corporate training, mindfulness, coaching, leadership, management, entrepreneurship education, productivity tools, social impact… the foundation is all personal growth. At GrowthDay, we want to be the best at bringing that very real and personal growth to you. Someday, I hope you'll feel we've achieve that. But for now, we know it will take years and years and we are happily showing up every day to manifest and build that reality. So today, I woke up on this beautiful and blessed Sunday, I boiled up some green tea, and I sat right down here and went to work for YOU. Every day like that for you, for 16 years now. And I hope, every day until I'm called back Home. Sending you love and appreciation today. - Brendon PS. It's Sunday, so try this beautiful personal growth routine today. I think you'll love it: 1.
