When I say “triple threat” you probably think of catching the ball and getting ready to dribble, pass, or shoot, right?  That’s what most players are taught from the first time they can pick up a basketball.  But what if I told you that there is a completely DIFFERENT way to teach the triple threat?  Instead–and this is one of Coach Kelbick’s core teaching principles–your players' first thoughts when they catch the ball should always be “SHOT, SHOT, SHOT!”  (If you’re more of a visual learner, you can also watch Don explain the Shot, Shot, Shot concept in [this short video clip](  Now that might sound strange at first (I was confused when I initially heard him say this too), but hear me out why I think he’s 100% correct.  The single biggest threat as an offensive player is to be able to put the ball in the basket.  Think about it…  No defense is game planning to double team a great passer or great dribbler, but they will definitely double an elite shooter/scorer.  It’s why teams are always sending double teams to Steph Curry but they never did that to Rajon Rondo!  If your players are not mentally and physically prepared to shoot the ball every time they catch it, then they're making it much easier for the defense.  Because when they instead catch the ball, aggressively face the basket, and immediately think “shot,” suddenly they force the defender to react.  It puts a ton of pressure on them and often gets them flat-footed. They can’t just go through the motions or “slack off.” That’s how you create mismatches and get that critical first step against any defender.  Now I want to make something clear…  Thinking “shot, shot, shot” does NOT mean shooting the ball every time or taking bad shots..  (That’s a common misconception when players and coaches first hear about Coach Kelbick’s approach).  Instead, it simply means that your players are ready to shoot and attack as they square up to the basket.  This gives their movements more purpose and makes their game much more confident and assertive–a nightmare for any defenders.  You eliminate the indecision or hesitation… as long as they take shots that they can make!  This “SHOT, SHOT, SHOT” approach to the Triple Threat is one of Coach Kelbick’s most unique beliefs about the game.  It certainly ruffles some feathers, but hopefully now you can see why it’s so effective.  If you resonate with his unique and innovative approach, then I’d like to invite you to take advantage of the special sale we’re running right now–where you can get his entire Attack & Counter system for $100 off.  [Click here to learn more about Coach Kelbick’s “Attack & Counter” system and claim your $100 discount](  All the best,  Joe Haefner Breakthrough Basketball           This email was sent to {EMAIL} because you indicated that you'd like to receive emails and updates from Breakthrough Basketball on 2016-12-16 05:42:39.
