Did you know that since 2002, Ken Pomeroy has an advanced analytics site that measures adjusted offense and defense based on the level of competition each team plays? It revealed that the NCAA men’s champion has the average offensive ranking of #6 in the country, but the average defensive ranking was #9 in the country. Does that mean offense is more important than defense? I don’t think it does. I think it just shows that you have to have a really, really good offense…and a really, really good defense. Whether that means you have the top offense in the country and one of the best defenses in the country, or vice versa - if you have the best defense in the country with one of the top offenses. Those combinations are what’s going to lead to a championship team. Here’s how those combinations look with this year’s Final Four men’s team for Pomeroy’s adjusted offense and defense ratings:  Offensive Rating Defensive Rating Duke 1 45 Kansas 7 17 Villanova 9 18 NC 18 39 Out of 350+ teams, these 4 are in the top 95 percentile in regards to offense. And Duke, Kansas, and Villanova are actually in the 98 percentile. There is one big problem between you and these teams… it’s likely that you can’t recruit 5-star recruits like these schools. However, there is some good news. You can still get big-time results and make your team much better than it ever would’ve been. You need an offensive approach that does a few different things… 1 - Offense Is Adaptable Season to season, you might have to change what your focus is due to a change in personnel and your team’s strengths. One year you might have strong guard play, so you use a 4-out or 5-out with an emphasis on dribble drive and perimeter shooting. Another year, you might have a couple of great post players, so you utilize a 3-out, 4-out that involves more post entries and actions out of that. 2 - Offense Gets Better As the Season Progresses As many you already know, an upside to teaching plays is that it produces returns right away. It could make your offense look great at the beginning of the season. HOWEVER... As the season goes on, one downside is plays get less effective. Rather than improving, your offensive efficiency starts to decline as teams improve their defense and scout the plays. That’s not even accounting for the psychological factor it has on your team… Why aren’t we getting better? Why is everybody catching us? Maybe we’re not that good. This is not how you want to end the season or roll into playoffs. It sort of acts like fool’s gold. I’ve been there and done that. And here’s the biggest problem with plays… it takes away from time in practice that actually develops players like skill development and teaching universal offensive and defensive concepts. Developing players leads to better teams at the end of the season! However, if you teach universal offensive concepts such as cutting, screening, passing, and spacing… you can attack and counter whatever the defense throws at you. And the more you do this, the better players get. And you know what’s great about that, even if you decide to install a few plays after developing your universal offensive concepts, they run the plays even better. That’s because if the defense disrupts a play or pattern, your players know how to instinctively counter the defense that results in a high-percentage shot. 3 - Develops Players As mentioned, teaching universal offensive concepts creates better players with higher IQ. Additionally, if your offensive drills can develop your skills (shooting, passing, dribble moves, triple threat moves, etc.) while working on offensive concepts, this is another bonus! So now you’ve developed highly skilled players with a high IQ… that’s what you want. And that’s precisely why we recommend you take a look at: [The Simplified Motion Offense with Don Kelbick](. It is one of the best systems on the market for youth, high school, and college basketball. It does exactly this. It teaches you HOW TO PLAY, not how to run a play. It shows you how to ADAPT any offense with different cuts, screens, and starting formations. It also includes offensive breakdown drills that DEVELOP players and their skills. Don Kelbick’s Offensive System is one of the few products that shows the art of creating your offensive system… while providing you with build-up drills to develop your offense. One coach said it better than I could... "Having implemented this now for about 4 weeks with my team, I now realize the brilliance of his approach - simple but effective. My team is able to have more scoring opportunities with his approach and I am not yelling plays throughout the game. It also got me to relax more as the players made mistakes since they could easily recover from them which in turn helped the players relax and focus more on making good decisions in the game. He also breaks it down into manageable parts so that it does not get complicated." - G Harter, Concord, VA You’ll get a motion offense that builds over time, and keeps on getting better and developing better players, maximizing your team’s potential. And you’ll be following in the footsteps of Final Four teams who consistently produce results in the half court. And, of course, in the spirit of end-of-season reflection about changes you may need to implement for next season, you can get [Kelbick’s motion offense system]( for just $55 (that’s 30% off!) until midnight TONIGHT.  Warm Regards, - Joe Haefner Breakthrough Basketball  This email was sent to {EMAIL} because you indicated that you'd like to receive emails and updates from Breakthrough Basketball on 2016-12-16 05:42:39.
