If you’re not shooting as well as you’d like in games, it usually comes down to this

If you’re not shooting as well as you’d like in games, it usually comes down to this…  - Your shooting mechanics need to be improved  - You need to practice smarter  With that in mind, here are 2 questions you should ask yourself to determine where your shooting struggles are coming from: - Can you make 60% to 70% or more of your perimeter shots (12 ft to 20 ft) unguarded in practice? - Can you make at least 50% of your 3-point shots unguarded in practice? If you answered “No” to either of those questions, then there’s a good chance you need to improve your mechanics.  Now of course, you can try to improve your mechanics by watching YouTube videos and researching on your own.  But you’ll speed up your learning curve tremendously if you have an experienced coach offering their expert guidance too.  For example, a coach can help you ask critical questions that allow you to make measurable improvements to your shot like: - If you regularly shoot above 60% in practice and still shoot a poor percentage in games, are you using the right drills? - Are you using shooting drills that replicate what happens during games? Do they involve game-like cuts? Are the shots you take in practice the same shots you take during games? - Are you sprinting and going at game speed?!? - Are you varying your shots between repetitions for parts of your workout?  - Are you practicing shooting against defenders for parts of your workout?  Depending on your answers, your coach will then be able to guide you through specific changes you can make.  They can help you practice mixing up your shot off the catch, off the dribble, and in different spots since you rarely take the same shot twice in a row….  They can suggest specific drills to include so you’re practicing in live situations like 1v1, 2v2, and 3v2….  They can help you get accustomed to shooting against defenders and making choices based on the defender’s position (one of the most neglected components of high-level shooting)...  And a whole lot more.  At the Breakthrough Shooting Camps, our coaches emphasize… - Improving your shooting mechanics - Developing a quicker release - Practicing the most common game-like shots - Shooting against defenders - Developing high-level confidence and mental toughness So if you’d like to learn what it takes to become a light outs shooter, I’d recommend you[check out one of our remaining 122 shooting camps]( to find the one nearest to you.  Remember, there are limited spots at each camp and locations are already selling out.  [Register for a Breakthrough Basketball shooting camp to make yourself a formidable scoring threat every time you touch the ball](   All the best,  Joe Haefner Breakthrough Basketball  This email was sent to {EMAIL} because you indicated that you'd like to receive emails and updates from Breakthrough Basketball on 2016-12-16 05:42:39.
