In today’s email we cover 2 BIG shooting culprits that prevent players from becoming great game-time shooters and scorers.  No matter which problem is affecting your shooting, you can still fix your shot and find success. It happened with one of our own coach’s family…on a family vacation of all places!  Coach Jim Huber was visiting his sister and one night they had a conversation about Jim’s nephew Chris being cut from the 8th grade team…  So Jim asked him, “Chris, did that bother you that you didn’t make that team?”  Chris quietly replied, “Uncle Jim, I’ll tell you. It hurt me really bad because all my friends made the team and I didn’t.”  Jim and his nephew talked a while longer. Chris said that he REALLY wanted to make the 9th grade team. So Uncle Jim told him - “We’ve got 5 days, let’s get up early and start working!”  Jim knew his nephew needed to work on shot mechanics, so he started him on his Beginner Shooting Workouts.  They started from the beginning…underneath the basket, feather shooting, guide hand…but when Jim left to go home, Chris was only shooting with correct form and consistency from about 5 to 6 feet from the basket. That’s all he could master in those 5 days.  Jim left - but emphasized to Chris, “If you keep up with these workouts all summer - go through the progressions as you’re supposed to - I guarantee you’ll make the 9th grade team in the fall.”  So Jim went back home and had no idea if Chris would follow through and keep up with the workouts.  But soon Jim’s sister called and said, “Man, I can’t believe this. He’s doing this stuff every day!”  And Chris didn’t even have a hoop at home. He had to go down the street to the park. But he kept doing the workouts all summer and into the fall.  And he made the 9th grade team!  Chris was all excited (rightfully so!), but Uncle Jim had another goal for him. He told Chris to do the workouts throughout the entire season, and if he did, Chris would be one of the top players on the team.  Well, Chris kept putting the time and effort in…by the end of the year, he was the second best player on his team (a large school outside of Atlanta).  But it doesn’t stop there. Chris’s next goal was to make JV and suit up for varsity the following year. So Jim adjusted his shooting workouts - taking him up a notch…  And, yes! Chris became a star JV player…then varsity…  Fast forward and he's All-Region in Georgia - and the year after that heading to college on a basketball scholarship!  By following Uncle Jim’s workouts, he ended up being a really great shooter who could also handle the ball well.  And even though Chris was in 8th grade, he started at the beginning because he couldn’t catch & shoot the ball with proper mechanics. That’s all he did at first!  If you can’t do this, you have no business practicing shooting off of advanced moves such as step-backs and side steps. This will just delay your progress.  Had he skipped that first step, he wouldn’t have gone on to all the successes that were waiting for him.  Chris developed his shot mechanics first and then moved on to game-like shooting at game speed.  Chris was able to pass those other players who were so much better because he worked on the correct skills with the correct progressions.   Chris’s story is one I wish for everyone out there…  And that is exactly why we created the [Shooting and Scoring System workouts]( with Jim Huber.  There are 3 levels of workouts to address the BIG culprits of shooting problems…  - Beginner - For those who need to work on mechanics (catching & shooting the ball). These are appropriate for players just starting out in the game of basketball or focusing on building a solid foundation for their shot - it’s not age-specific. Instead, think of it as level or progression specific. - Intermediate - For those who have mechanics down but are ready for game-like shooting - Advanced - For those who need to layer in scoring moves  Huber is well known for being a gifted trainer and coach who has a real knack for inspiring players. He’s worked with NBA players but has also helped countless youth and high school players reach their shooting potential.  Here’s what you can expect with his System:  - Step-by-step process for mastering proper shooting mechanics - 14 Levels of carefully-designed Progressive Shooting Workouts - Over 21 months of workouts to challenge players at EVERY level - 100+ Drills for individual players and team drills for coaches - 15 Advanced Scoring Moves off the dribble (for elite shooters with mechanics mastery) - Workout App Access (web-based) to build your own custom shooting workouts and chart your progress  And if you don’t have all the time in the world, even just 10-15 minutes a day 2-3 days a week will bring you shooting improvement!  [Read about the program and enroll now at 34% OFF](   All the best,  Joe Haefner Breakthrough Basketball  This email was sent to {EMAIL} because you indicated that you'd like to receive emails and updates from Breakthrough Basketball on 2016-12-16 06:42:39.
