WIC funding could expire on Friday. Dear Friend, The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Wome

WIC funding could expire on Friday. [Photo of the Capitol Building dome.]( Dear Friend, The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children – better known as WIC – is the premier U.S. public health nutrition program for pregnant women, mothers, and children up to age 5. Unfortunately, WIC is facing a severe budget shortfall that would result in countless mothers and babies being turned away from the program and placed on waiting lists. Please [urge your members of Congress]( to fully fund WIC. [Take Action]( More than half of all babies born in the United States are served by WIC. And because of its importance, the program has historically enjoyed broad, bipartisan support. Additionally, if Congress fails to act and pass funding bills to prevent a partial shutdown by Friday, the nearly 7 million women, babies, and small children who rely on WIC could see their benefits dry up almost immediately. [Please act now]( and urge your members of Congress to ensure that WIC is fully funded, and the government stays open.
