I want to humbly invite you to be in prayer with us. Navegar hacia abajo para español. Dear Bread

I want to humbly invite you to be in prayer with us. Navegar hacia abajo para español. Dear Bread Member, On behalf of all of the staff at Bread for the World, I wish you a Happy New Year! There are so many things happening in the world that contribute to children and families experiencing hunger, and I want you to know that our team at Bread is working diligently behind the scenes trying to address many of these challenges. We are in meetings with members of Congress and the Administration, working with our coalition partners, organizing in the field, and we are praying. As an organization rooted in our faith in Christ, prayer is at the heart of our work. In other words, we believe that we can’t do this work without prayer, and I want to humbly invite you to be in prayer with us. Let us pray: God of Peace, God of Salvation, As we enter this new year, we find ourselves pulled in many directions: starting new resolutions and renewing commitments, sending our kids back to school, getting back to work. We weep with You when we watch the news and see the horrors of war. Our hearts break. Israeli and Palestinian civilians killed, hostages still in captivity, the Gaza Strip demolished. War rages on in Ukraine. Hunger runs rampant. We know there are many who suffer without the spotlight of media attention, In places like South Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, Somalia, Myanmar, Haiti, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso. As we hold these people, these places, with love and tenderness, we long for peace deep within our bones. We long for justice with all of our hearts. We long for an end to hunger with all that we have. We pray for leaders who make choices each day, choices that can save lives, end violence, get food to families and children. We pray for advocates who persist in their letter writing, in their phone calling, in their face-to-face meetings. We pray for the Church, that she might bear witness to Your peace and Your justice. As we move through each day, help us to trust in the promise of Jesus’ birth that there is hope for this weary world. Give us hope, O God, give us hope. And may this hope compel us to action. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Thank you for praying with us. Prayer is critical for the work we do. Please also consider joining us in advocacy action. Write a [letter](. Organize [letter writing]( in your community or congregation. Contact us if you want more information about how your church can join our efforts. Blessings, Rev. Bendiciones, Rev.
