The event takes place this Tuesday, Dec. 12! Dear Friend, I am reaching out to make sure you saw Rev. Eugene Cho’s invitation to the launch of our new advocacy campaign! I hope you will [register and join us]( at 8:00 p.m. ET on TUESDAY, December 12 to learn what we are planning, why it matters, and how you and your faith community can make a difference for children experiencing hunger in the U.S. and around the world. [Register]( See you there! Matt Gross Director of Organizing and Faith Engagement ---------------------------------------- From the original email: October data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture reveals a marked increase in child food insecurity in the U.S. between 2021 and 2022. Food insecurity affected 3.3 million households with children at times during 2022, up from 2.3 million in 2021. That’s 17 million households that were food insecure at some point last year, affecting 13 million children. Internationally, child malnutrition is alarmingly high. 148 million children experienced stunted growth and development due to a chronic lack of essential nutrients, and 45 million children suffered from wasting, the most severe and life-threatening form of malnutrition. We need to stop this rise in hunger and malnutrition among children. With your help, we will launch a campaign focused on significant policy changes to address domestic and international child malnutrition. On December 12, we will share some of the issues–such as WIC and debt relief–that we plan to address in the campaign. We’ll also share opportunities for you to get involved and invite you to make a commitment to taking action with us in 2024. I hope you will [join Bread for the World and anti-hunger advocates]( across the U.S. as we launch this exciting new campaign. Together, we can nourish our future. In hope, Rev. Eugene Cho President and CEO P.S. - Please consider forwarding this email to five of your friends and asking them to join us for this important campaign launch.
