Fast and pray with us to bring about the end of hunger. [Banner Image Alternative Text]( Dear Friend, Prayer is essential to ending hunger. That is why Bread [invites you to join us]( today through June 7 in a time of prayer and fasting for an end to hunger in the areas of the world where people are experiencing severe hunger. [Join Us]( Each day, you’ll be emailed a reflection, a prayer, and resources to learn more about the complex causes of hunger in different hunger hotspot countries. Today’s prayer is below. As Esther called on the Jewish people to fast and pray in the days leading up to her advocacy with the king, we are called to a deepened and sustained spiritual practice as we advocate with and for people who experience hunger and poverty. [Please join]( with thousands of others today and for the next nine days as we leverage the power of prayer for meaningful solutions to these urgent challenges. Let us pray. God our creator and sustainer, we give thanks that you call us to the work of ending hunger in our world. We gather together in these coming days for a time of fasting and prayer for the people in the hunger hotspots in the world, for the elected leaders who can make a difference, for leaders in the anti-hunger movement. We ask that you be with us and guide us in this time. Focus our attention on you and your children who suffer from hunger due to climate and weather conditions, due to conflict and insecurity, due to displacement, due to economic shocks, due to political instability and unrest. We know that these are human made problems, but they need your divine intervention. Intervene in our hearts, in our minds, in our voices, so that we might be agents of change in this world. Guide our actions as we pray for our elected leaders, for the leaders of our movement, and for activists around the globe who seek peace and an end to hunger in the land. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen Give a gift today. Your gift will support the Fast, Bread's work to address hunger hotspots, and our work together to end hunger at home and around the world.
