We need to ban assault weapons before the next tragedy changes another community forever.

Twenty minutes later, the gunman walked into another dance studio with this gun where he was disarmed by a 26-year-old. Friend, a year after a civilian was forced to stop a gunman with an assault weapon with their bare hands, Congress has still failed to ban these weapons of war. The tragedy in Monterrey Park was unfortunately only one of the record-breaking number of mass shootings that our country suffered through last year – and we are still waiting for lifesaving action from our lawmakers. It's been 20 years since the NRA made sure that the federal ban on assault weapons ended and mass shootings have skyrocketed. The common link between the country's deadliest mass shootings is the assault weapon – because it was designed for destruction, to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. 18 in Lewiston 22 killed in Uvalde 5 killed in Colorado Springs, while 25 others were injured 7 killed in Highland Park, while 48 others were injured 10 killed in Buffalo 17 killed in Parkland, while 17 more were injured 61 killed in Las Vegas We’ve pleaded with Congress to do something to address our gun violence epidemic, but they continue to fail us.
