My daughter, Jaime, was only 14 years old when she was killed by a gunman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Her life — a life full of love and joy and kindness and dance recitals and big dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse — was cut violently short that day. She died running down her school hallway in a spray of bullets. My family and I will never get Jaime back. Those are wounds that will never heal.
