This week, we're remembering and honoring all the victims of the Parkland shooting, the 17 students and staff members who were shot and killed running down hallways, hiding in classrooms and attempting to shield others from the rain of bullets. As this difficult day approaches, our hearts are with the survivors, their families and every community that has been impacted by the gun violence epidemic. The Parkland shooting and the movement led by the survivors sparked change. But this fight is far from over. The horror and pain of Parkland has remained with us. But so has the incredible bravery of the survivors and their courageous fight for change. These teenagers, some as young as 14, who were struggling to move forward after an unimaginable trauma, inspired our entire nation. Their advocacy moved us to march, donate and raise our voices for change. In the six years since Parkland, we've won real progress. We elected gun safety champions to the White House, broke the gun lobby's grip on Congress and passed the most substantial reforms in decades. But this fight is far from over. The 2024 elections will have huge consequences. They're a chance for us to continue forward on this path of progress ... or a chance for the gun lobby to retake power and undo all the reforms we've fought so hard for.
