[Will you consider making a donation today to help Brady PAC continue this critical work in 2024?]( [DONATE TO BRADY PAC >>]( {NAME}, Eleven years ago this Thursday, a gunman armed with an assault weapon entered Sandy Hook Elementary School. He killed six adults and 20 children between 6 and 7 years old, cutting their lives brutally, violently short. I can still remember the horror, anger and grief I felt watching the news that day. It was a day of national mourning – and national rage. How could someone do this? How did this gunman access an assault weapon? How have our leaders allowed these weapons of war to be used against elementary school children? Sandy Hook was supposed to be the turning point. We thought it'd be impossible for our leaders to ignore this tragedy. Even the greed of the gun lobby had to have a limit, right? We were wrong. Instead of ending this bloodshed, our leaders chose inaction, and the gun lobby chose greed. So, six years later, my home of Parkland, Florida, was the town in those headlines. My community was the one torn apart by an assault weapon. And my beautiful daughter, Jaime, was one of the children murdered by the gunman as she ran down the halls of her school. Sandy Hook should have been the last school shooting. It wasn't. But we still have time to stop the next school shooting. Brady PAC is fighting every single day to elect leaders who will break the gun lobby's grip on Washington and finally ban assault weapons. But we cannot defeat the gun lobby without your help. [I know that this is a difficult anniversary for many of us, including myself. But please, if you are moved to take action, will you make a donation now to help Brady PAC elect the leaders who will finally end tragedies like Sandy Hook and Parkland?]( [DONATE TO BRADY PAC >>]( My daughter, the 16 others killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and the 26 victims at Sandy Hook were murdered by weapons of war. These assault weapons were designed with a sole purpose: to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. Our leaders in Washington failed my daughter, and they failed the children and faculty at Sandy Hook. Their cowardice prevented us from banning the assault weapon years before, like we should have. Their greed prevented them from caring about the thousands of families like mine who've paid the price for their failures. But in 2024, we have a chance to change things. We can elect leaders who care about protecting kids like Jaime, leaders who will truly stand up to the gun lobby. [But with control of Washington at stake, we need your help to take on the gun lobby's dark-money donors. Will you donate to Brady PAC today to help our gun safety candidates win in 2024?]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $5]( [Donate $25]( [Donate $50]( [Donate Another Amount]( This week, I'm holding the families of Sandy Hook in my heart. I know that change will come, but we have to fight for it, {NAME}. Thank you for standing with me, Fred Guttenberg We can't wait any longer for action on gun safety. Brady PAC is fighting for lifesaving legislation like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, but we need your support. Chip in now to help us end gun violence in America → [DONATE]( [DONATE MONTHLY]( If you prefer to donate by mail, please make checks payable to: Brady PAC, c/o Digital 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE, #15180, Washington, D.C. 20003 Paid for by Brady PAC (bradypac.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee [You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time.](
