This is a HUGE moment for the fight to end gun violence. [Please rush a gift now to help our candidates win a Gun Safety Majority in the House and defeat the NRA.]( [Donate to Defeat the Gun Lobby >>]( Emily Busch (MI-10), Dr. Brian Williams, M.D. (TX-32) and former Houston City Council member Amanda Edwards (TX-18) are all incredible candidates running in must-win battleground seats. As gun violence survivors, they'll be some of our fiercest advocates for gun safety reforms in Washington. But first, we've got to make sure that they win. The gun lobby is going to do everything that they can to defeat these candidates, who are counting on grassroots donors like you to have their backs. That's why I've set a critical $15,000 one-day goal – and I'm personally asking for your help to hit it. [Please, will you rush a donation before our midnight deadline to make sure that our candidates have everything they need to defeat the gun lobby in 2024? We're all counting on you to stand with us in this fight.]( The fight for a 2024 Gun Safety Majority starts right now. I need to know that you'll stand with us. Thank you, Ashley Lantz Executive Director Brady PAC ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Brady PAC Subject: PRESS RELEASE: Brady PAC Issues First Federal Legislative Endorsements of 2024 Cycle Brady PAC Issues First Federal Legislative Endorsements of 2024 Cycle to Gun Violence Survivors Running for U.S. House Busch, Williams, and Edwards Will Usher in a New House Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) Majority WASHINGTON – Brady PAC, the political arm of Brady, today endorsed three survivors of gun violence running for the U.S. House of Representatives: Oxford mom Emily Busch (MI-10), trauma surgeon and Air Force veteran Dr. Brian Williams, M.D. (TX-32), and former Houston City Council member Amanda Edwards (TX-18). Once elected, all three will be an integral part of a new gun violence prevention House majority in Washington. “Emily Busch, Dr. Brian Williams, and Amanda Edwards are the future of the movement to protect public safety. Brady is honored that these leaders have turned their pain from experiencing gun violence in their communities into purpose, to serve and create a safer nation. We look forward to welcoming these three critical leaders to Washington – they are the path to a new House gun violence prevention majority,” stated Ashley Lantz, Brady PAC executive director. Emily Busch was compelled to run for office after her son Andrew ran for his life from the Oxford shooter during the November 30, 2021 tragedy that killed four students and injured seven people. Dr. Brian Williams, M.D. is no stranger to the carnage of gun violence – he personally operated on the Dallas police officers who were ambushed on July 7, 2016, and has also performed numerous surgeries on children whose small bodies have been ravaged by gun violence. Edwards, a community leader in Houston, lost her cousin in a senseless and preventable shooting. “No one should know the absolute pain and agony of losing or nearly losing a family member to gun violence. I am deeply sorry that Emily, Brian, and Amanda have joined those of us who do know this ceaseless agony, and it will be because of them, because of their leadership, that additional lives will be spared. A vote for Emily Busch or Brian Williams or Amanda Edwards is a vote for life,” said Parkland survivor and Brady PAC senior advisor Fred Guttenberg. The endorsements of Busch, Williams, and Edwards mark Brady PAC’s first federal legislative endorsements of the 2024 cycle. Brady PAC was created in 2018 to counter the gun industry lobby’s dark money Super PACs. The organization endorses gun violence prevention champions who support common-sense gun safety policies, including universal background checks, safe storage, and a ban on new assault weapons. ### Brady PAC is dedicated to a singular goal: creating a safer America by supporting and investing in candidates who are committed to enacting, improving, and defending Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) policies across the country. It upholds the policy ideals championed by its sister organization – one of the nation’s oldest GVP grassroots advocacy organizations. [Defeat the Gun Lobby >>]( We can't wait any longer for action on gun safety. Brady PAC is fighting for lifesaving legislation like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, but we need your support.
