Every May, our country celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week {NAME}, Every May, our country celebrate

Every May, our country celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week {NAME}, Every May, our country celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week — a span of five days where we honor and uplift our nation's educators for their vital service. Teachers ARE and have always been the backbone of our society and the builders of our future. For five days a week, eight hours each day — many times including weekends and late afternoons — they are tasked with guiding the children of our country and ensuring that they are happy, healthy, and loved in the classroom. But with the reality of gun violence in America, they are faced with another task: being the very first line of defense between the children in their class and the bullets of a shooter. Since the 1999 Columbine massacre, school shootings have skyrocketed: From Parkland and Uvalde to Michigan State, there have been more than 370 school shootings nationwide. At least 199 children, educators, and others have been shot and killed, and 425 others will live with injuries and trauma for the rest of their lives. Year after year, teachers are regularly expected to comfort dying children as they bleed to death in their classroom, help police identify scattered remains from the carnage of an AR-15, and even give their lives so that their students may live. But despite the carnage, extremist gun lobby shills refuse to take action. In many cases, they end up placing the responsibility on the teachers themselves to stop this violence and, recently, have advocated for introducing MORE guns into schools. American classrooms have become a warzone, {NAME}. But it doesn't have to be this way, we owe it to our educators to unseat gun extremists and pass laws that will end this disgusting cycle of violence. Enough is ENOUGH. This Teacher Appreciation Week, join us in the fight to give teachers the best gift of all: Strong gun laws that keep our schools and communities safe! [Chip in $13, of whatever you can afford, to help us continue to stand up to the gun lobby and finally pass laws that will keep our teachers and students safe >>]( Thank you, Brady PAC [Brady PAC]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( If you prefer to donate by mail, please make checks payable to: Brady PAC, c/o Digital 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE, #15180, Washington, D.C. 20003 Paid for by Brady Pac (bradypac.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee [You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time.](
