This morning, we awoke to the news that a fifth victim has died following yesterday's shooting in Louisville, Kentucky. {NAME}, This morning, we awoke to the news that a fifth victim has died following yesterday's shooting with an AR-15 in Louisville, Kentucky. This makes five Louisville families who will make funeral arrangements this week. Who will pick out burial clothes and plan services. Who will write obituaries and eulogies that honor their loved ones. My heart breaks for these families, and all families who have lost loved ones due to gun violence. Thoughts and prayers have never and will never be enough. We must honor these victims with action. The truth of the matter is these tragedies are preventable. The lack of action on lifesaving gun safety legislation simply comes down to the gun lobby and their cowardly cronies in Congress placing profits over people's lives. It's abhorrent and unthinkable, but it is the reality we are being forced into by those who have taken great care, not for our children, but to place themselves in power. While it may be easy to give up hope in times of tragedy, we must remember we do have the power to change things. We CAN, and we MUST defeat these gun extremists and replace them with leaders who will put our safety first. Leaders who will pass legislation like an assault weapons ban and put an end to this tragic and uniquely American problem. [Are you ready to be a part of the movement for change?
