Last month, Oregon voters made history when they voted to pass a gun safety measure that, among other provisions, would ban high-capacity magazines in Oregon. This measure was set to go into effect this week, but due to a lawsuit by a gun extremist group, this life-saving legislation is on hold. The gun lobby spent big money to defeat this bill, and now that it's passed, they're throwing everything they can to block it. This is the landscape the gun safety movement must contend with; even when we win, we still have to be ready for challenges from the gun lobby. We're working to pass gun safety legislation across the country, but we know we'll be facing lawsuits from the gun lobby at every turn. We need to prepare now to fight back against whatever challenges lie ahead.
