Iowa just made it harder to pass gun safety legislation

Iowans passed an amendment that puts the right to bear arms in the state constitution. [Brady PAC]( Gun safety was on the ballot this Election Day. Iowans passed an amendment that puts the right to bear arms broadly in the state constitution. This deceptively worded amendment will make it much harder for gun safety legislation to be passed in the state, putting Iowan's lives at risk. Iowa already has some of the loosest gun laws in the nation, and gun extremists hope this amendment will block any gun safety legislation from being passed in the state for years to come.
