Governor Greg Abbott is doing everything in his power to keep assault-style weapons in the WRONG hands. [Brady PAC]( Assault rifles don't belong in the hands of 18-year-olds, or anyone for the matter, {NAME}. But Texas governor, Greg Abbott, is doing everything in his power to keep these dangerous weapons IN the wrong hands. Last week, he told everyone who would listen that raising the minimum age to buy assault-style rifles is "unconstitutional." We're appalled that even in the wake of Uvalde's tragedy (that was committed by a 19-year-old who legally obtained his weapon), Greg is STILL choosing to serve the gun lobby and sacrifice his constituents for NRA dollars. Everything is bigger in Texas, including gun violence, but it doesn't have to be this way. A great start towards taking these weapons of mass destruction out of our streets is to raise the minimum age to buy assault rifles from 18 to 21. This legislation is especially necessary for states like Texas, which in 2020 saw over 4,000 gun-related deaths and suffers from some of the weakest gun legislation in the country. [We believe that by raising the minimum age to buy assault-style weapons from 18 to 21, lives will be saved and tragedies will be prevented. Do you agree with us? Add your name if you support raising the minimum age to buy assault-style weapons.]( Thank you, Team Brady PAC Radical extremist groups are spending big to diminish our Gun Violence Prevention Majority in November.
