The day that Jaime died, my life was absolutely shattered. But even amidst that unimaginable grief and pain, one thing was absolutely certain: I would spend the rest of my life fighting to stop tragedies like Parkland from ever happening again. Today, I'm asking you to join me in this fight: [Please, will you make a donation of $5 or more to elect leaders who will finally END the gun violence epidemic?]( [Contribute]( Feb. 14, 2018, should have been a normal day for my daughter. She should have spent her day in classes and studying with her fellow students. She should have walked the halls without a care in the world, chatting about who sent whom a Valentine's Day card. She should have come home to us. She should have lived. But instead, she died running down the halls of her school, murdered by a weapon of war that was designed to kill as many people as possible. Our leaders in Washington failed my daughter. Their cowardice prevented us from banning the assault weapon that murdered my daughter. Their inaction allowed the gunman who killed her to purchase that weapon legally – at only 18. Their greed prevented them from caring about the thousands of families like mine who've paid the price for their failures. But in 2024, we have a chance to change things. We can elect leaders who care about protecting kids like Jaime, leaders who will truly stand up to the gun lobby. [But with control of Washington up for grabs, we need your help to take on the gun lobby's dark-money donors. Will you donate to Brady PAC today to help our gun safety candidates win a majority in 2024?]( The gun lobby's paid-for politicians hold direct responsibility for my daughter's murder, for all of the deaths at Parkland, for the massacre at Uvalde, for the tragedy at Sandy Hook, for the Nashville shooting, and for the hundreds of other mass shootings that occur every single year. There are simple changes to our laws that could have prevented these massacres. Banning assault weapons. Expanding background checks. Raising the minimum age for purchasing a firearm. Advocates have spent decades fighting for these proven, lifesaving reforms. But too many of our leaders in Washington have been content to shrug off massacres like Parkland if it meant a huge campaign check from the gun lobby. It is 2024. We must build a movement that's stronger than the NRA's dark-money donors and the greed that runs so deep in Washington. That cannot happen unless dedicated, compassionate people like you choose to step up and invest in this fight. [So I'm asking you one last time to donate now so that our candidates can take on the gun lobby, win control of Washington and finally win a future where our schools never again become war zones.]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [Donate $5]( [Donate $25]( [Donate $50]( [Donate Another Amount]( I know that change will come, but we have to fight for it, {NAME}. Thank you for standing with me, Fred Guttenberg We can't wait any longer for action on gun safety. Brady PAC is fighting for lifesaving legislation like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, but we need your support. Chip in now to help us end gun violence in America → [DONATE]( [DONATE MONTHLY]( If you prefer to donate by mail, please make checks payable to: Brady PAC, c/o Digital 600 Pennsylvania Ave SE, #15180, Washington, D.C. 20003 Paid for by Brady PAC (bradypac.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee [You can unsubscribe from this mailing list at any time.](
