This is Mira, Christina’s daughter. It’s Mother’s Day, so I’m popping back in to tell you about my mom. My mom has been looking out for me for much longer than I can remember. From making sure I was always dressed in style (see below photo of us looking very fashionable) to helping me with my homework to listening to all my problems, I was lucky to grow up knowing my mom would always be there for me. [Mira with her mom, Christina Bohannan]( As I’ve gotten older, my mom has been working hard for the people of Iowa, just like she works hard for me. She served as my representative in the Iowa House, looking out for the interests of every Iowan — including young people like me — by supporting education, healthcare, reproductive rights, and environmental action. Even though there’s a lot more on her plate now, she has never stopped being an amazing mom. That’s how I know she’ll be an incredible representative: because she cares, she listens, and she shows up for every single person in Iowa’s 1st District, just like she does for me. (Although she might not pick out Easter hats for anyone else. That honor is still reserved for me.)
