We love having you in our network, but if you no longer wish to hear from us, you can [unsubscribe](. Hi there, {NAME}, it’s Mark Takano. I'm reaching out to ask you to split a [$10 donation]( between Blue Amp Action and Will Rollins’ campaign before his next deadline hits. Before I do, I want to be vulnerable for a moment, and share a personal story about my coming out experience. In 1994, my Republican opponent outed me as gay by sending out bigoted, homophobic campaign mailers in our race. This was before I'd even come out publicly. Coming out is an extremely personal moment, so you can imagine my horror finding out I had been outed so publicly -- and in such a hateful way. And you might be familiar with the person who did it -- Ken Calvert, the same Republican that Will Rollins is now running to unseat. Calvert blamed “the times” and claims he has since changed, but his attacks on the LGBTQ community haven’t. He voted against the Matthew Shepard hate crimes bill. He voted against gay adoption and voted to keep us out of the military. After all these years, I can’t think of a stronger rebuke of Calvert's long-standing, anti-LGBTQ agenda than by replacing him with an openly gay prosecutor like Will who will uphold the law and fight for equal rights. [Will’s race happens to be one of the most consequential elections in the country in the Democrats’ effort to retake the House. He can win, but he’ll need your support to do it. If you can, please split a contribution of $10 or more between Blue Amp Action and Will’s campaign before their next fundraising deadline.]( [Donate $10]( Thank you, Mark     Cliff Schecter President, Blue Amp Action Amplify Good   Follow Us [Twitter]( [LinkedIn]( Blue Amp Strategies 1776 Mentor Ave. #411 | Norwood, Ohio 45212 513.438.0171 | info@blueampaction.com   About BlueAmp Action: We cannot sugarcoat the current situation. Right-wing authoritarianism, defeated by a worldwide coalition during WWII, was only in hibernation. Over the past decade it has infected democratic societies--including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world. We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights--including voting rights!--are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits. And savvy grassroots activists like you know, just like we do, that we can’t stop watching the people we help elect: after the elections, we have to keep organizing support for the policies we like and pushing back against the ones we don’t. When the public tunes out between elections and the only people our elected officials hear from are the paid lobbyists of wealthy corporations, our government stops being accountable to the needs of ordinary families. Democracy never sleeps, and neither can we. So we ask that you support our work, so we can continue to engage in this fight every moment of every day. So our kids grow up in democracy, not dystopia. Thank you for your support for all we do!
