The reason I stepped up is because I’m tired of constantly watching our politics fail our nation. We are just cycling from crisis to crisis, and too many politicians aren’t focused on what the American people need help with. Right now, a staggering 84 percent of people in New Jersey believe NJ politicians are corrupt. The people of New Jersey deserve a choice for what kind of public servant they have in the Senate. Instead of throwing up my hands and giving up, I am stepping up to show that there is a better way. We deserve leaders who can serve with integrity. Leaders who are workhorses, not show horses. After Menendez’s scandal, we need a fresh new start — a chance to lift up a new generation of leadership that can bring a new voice and deep public service experience to the U.S. Senate. It’s been clear for some time that our campaign’s momentum is incredible. We went from being the underdog to becoming the Democratic Nominee. There’s a long way to go between now and November though – and Bob Menendez officially running as an Independent, making this a three-way race.
