They used to be updated only annually, but during the pandemic, the CDC began releasing [provisional numbers]( from as recently as the previous month. It takes a little while to learn how to extract the numbers you want, but I’m continually amazed by how little use is made of these readily available statistics in public discussions and debates around Covid-19, the vaccines and other topics.
