[Bloomberg] [Fully Charged]( From [Bloomberg](   [FOLLOW US [Facebook Share]]( [Twitter Share]( [SUBSCRIBE [Subscribe]](  Hi all, Julie VerHage here. Gene Munster of Loup Ventures said it best over the weekend in a blog post: "Elon Musk’s quick settlement of Thursday’s SEC lawsuit is the best possible outcome for all involved." To be sure, as a result of the Securities and Exchange Commission agreement, Musk won't be allowed to serve as Tesla's chairman for three years, and some investors who bought the stock on the news that Musk had "funding secured" still got burned. But the drama that followed Musk's fateful tweet now finally seems to be drawing to a close. The company will get to keep its visionary CEO, who is likely essential to its heady stock price, and will get more oversight in the bargain too. On Monday, shareholders were ebullient. "We were prepared to see a legal process that could have lasted many months," Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas wrote in a note to clients Monday morning. Shares surged more than 17 percent in early trading and maintained those gains throughout the day, more than making up for the 14 percent decline on Friday. Closing Tesla's Azealia Banks and Grimes chapter means the company's focus will now go back to how it's doing financially. The next definitive look at that will be when the Tesla reports its quarterly earnings, but production and delivery numbers are coming in sooner. On Sunday, Musk emailed the staff to say that Tesla was “very close to achieving profitability and proving the naysayers wrong," but still had to execute on the final day of reporting period. Throughout the process, analysts were quick to say that they didn’t want Musk to be ousted as CEO, and that the company needed Musk's leadership. While that’s still true, they are also hoping he spends less time on Twitter. "If Musk can step away from the external stuff that doesn’t matter, he’ll make the game that much easier for himself," Munster wrote. That, in particular, he added, "will be good for everyone."—[Julie VerHage](mailto:jverhage2@bloomberg.net)  And here’s what you need to know in global technology news Instagram has a new leader.
