In the fifth lesson, we discussed optimizing your content with Rank Math. In this email, we’ll discuss how to bring more search traffic to your existing content. Why do people create more content? A BIG myth in blogging is to create new blog posts to increase traffic. It’s NOT true. Whether you believe it or not, we currently have just around 500 blog posts on our blog BloggersPassion. I’ve been running the blog since 2010 (over 12 years now). It’s also generating over 200,000 page views per month. Isn’t that awesome? The truth is you don’t need to create thousands of blog posts to bring massive traffic from Google. You NEED high-quality blog posts. Don't create new content if your blog already has 100+ blog posts and barely gets 1000 views a day. Instead, work on your existing blog posts. Here are three things you can do; - Update the existing blog posts with relevant information, add more words, add images, link to other posts, optimize for keywords - Redirect them to other blog posts that are relevant to the topic - Remove and use 301 redirects or "deindex" them in search results That’s exactly what we did in the past. That’s what we’ve been doing consistently. That’s what helps us generate more traffic from Google. So let’s briefly talk about the three steps mentioned above so you can update your existing content to generate more traffic. Step 1: Update the existing posts Make a list of all the blog posts that need an update. Go through your Google Analytics or pick your favorite blog posts to begin with. Then, you can start optimizing for more keywords. Use a plugin like Rank Math to optimize. You can add more content. Remove unwanted content. Tweak your headlines and meta descriptions and add more visuals to each post. Step 2: Redirect If your existing blog posts are NOT generating any traffic and you feel there’s no point in updating them, redirect them using [301 redirects](. You can redirect to other blog posts that are important and relevant to the topic. Step 3: Remove and deindex If you see ZERO scope and value in any of your existing blog posts, don’t keep them. Remove them and make sure to deindex those posts. You can again use 301 redirects to safely remove your existing content that doesn’t offer any value. So there you go. Updating your existing blog posts is the SUREFIRE way to boost your search traffic. Today is the time if you have NEVER optimized your old blog posts. What’s coming up next? Stay tuned for the SEVENTH lesson as you’ll learn how to use Quora for massive traffic to your site (that comes to your email inbox on Tuesday at 11 AM IST). The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
