If you’re a beginner who’s looking to learn some quick SEO hacks, this email is for you. I’m going to show you 5 of the top SEO hacks every beginner should know and follow to boost their search rankings. So without further ado, let’s get started. SEO Hack #1. Find long-tail keywords A longtail keyword contains at least three words to describe the topic or content. For instance, “Free SEO tools for YouTube videos” is a 6-word long-tail keyword which is much easier to rank when compared to a generic keyword like “SEO tools”. Long-tail keywords convert really well as they're more specific and often less competitive than generic short-tail keyword terms such as “SEO”, “fitness”, “marketing” etc. Have a look at the following illustration to understand the difference between generic and long-tail keywords. As you can see above, as a blogger, it’s a smart idea to target long-tail keywords as they usually have less competition yet high conversion rates. Here are some easy ways to find long-tail keywords. Use Google “Searches Related to” Google “Related Searches” is probably the easiest way to find long-tail keywords. For instance, if you search for a general keyword like “how to tie a knot”, here’s what it shows. See that? There are many long-tail keywords showing up for our example keyword. Similarly, you can find a ton of long-tail keywords for any keyword term or topic. Use KeywordTool.io [KeywordTool.io]() is a freemium tool that can help you find long-tail keywords across many platforms including Google, Amazon, YouTube, and more. Just enter any topic or keyword term and it will show you the results. Have a look; For the example keyword “WordPress SEO”, this tool is showing us over 220 unique keywords with its free version. SEO Hack #2. Write longer posts Many surveys indicate that longer posts often tend to rank well and attract more social shares. According to Backlinko, long-form content generates significantly more social shares than short content. [The ideal content length for maximizing social media shares is 1,000 to 2,000 words] According to Backlinko, articles between 1k to 2k words get an average of 56.1% more social shares than content that’s less than 1000 words. So if you want better results in terms of social shares or backlinks, start creating long-form content. SEO Hack #3: Install an optimization plugin You need to properly optimize your content for Google to get more organic traffic. How can you do that? Find primary and secondary keywords for each blog post you write and sprinkle those keywords throughout your content. The easiest way to do that is to install an optimization plugin like Rank Math. The motive behind Google featured snippets is to answer the user's question right away so people don’t have to skim through a ton of links online to get the information they want. Here’s how they look like; Did you know that featured snippets steal the clicks from page ranking on the #1 position? Also, Google featured snippets reduce the number of clicks on the search results.
