One of the most important concepts to learn as you figure out your 2024 plans comes from David Allen

One of the most important concepts to learn as you figure out your 2024 plans comes from David Allen: You can do anything you want, but you can’t do everything you want. Oof. That used to hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s painful when deciding what to say “no” to. But over the years, I’ve noticed something… As you go through the process of editing down your goals and plans, the “pain” of focusing on just a few things creates a tremendous sense of clarity. Themes begin to emerge. They might be themes within your family life. Or your business. Or your creative pursuits. Or your finances. A year ago, there was one clear-cut theme I felt in my gut after going through this exercise toward the start of 2023: Design. I knew that in 2023 I wanted to design better systems for my business. I wanted to design new products for my business. I wanted to design better ways of helping people unlock focus in their lives. And guess what? That’s exactly what I was able to make massive progress on in 2023. (With the help of my amazing team.) My theme for this year is consistency. It’s not too late to clarify your “focus theme” for 2024. Join me this coming Monday for a special edition of my free, [How to Plan Your Year]([workshop]( and I’ll show you how to get clear on what matters this year and what you can do about it. What: Free Workshop: How to Plan Your Year (Even if you hate planning, think goals are dumb, and would rather not be reminded that it's a New Year.) When: This Monday, January 8 at 2pm Eastern // 11am Pacific Where: Private, live-online webinar stream (with a replay also available) RSVP: [Use this link to RSVP]( and we’ll send you a link to join as well as a link to the replay if you can’t be there live. 👉 [Click here to save your spot on the]([How to Plan Your Year]([workshop]( If you want to clarify what you want to focus on in 2024, or what goals you would like to set, this workshop is the place to be. That’s the definition of focus, after all — maximum clarity. It’s the ultimate prerequisite for making rapid progress. You have to know what’s most important to you, and you have to create the necessary space to pursue it. How to Plan Your Year will give you the tools to do just that. [RSVP now and I’ll see you there on Monday!]( — Shawn P.S. Notice that I didn’t say perfect clarity is the definition of focus. If you wait until you can see every last step of the road ahead, you’ll never take the first one. Luckily, you don’t need to have it all figured out in order to get focused. You just need to hit the maximum amount of clarity that’s available to you right now. Even if it still feels a little foggy.
