Friend, Rejoice! It’s officially that time of year where we can start to say "let’s circle back after the holidays". Which means… there is an opportunity to think, dream, slow down before New Year mania. New Year mania is the time of the year when dreams, goals, and endless possibilities get all of the attention. And while I LOVE that stuff, the "new year, new you" hype tends to ignore an uncomfortable question: What are you NOT going to do in 2024? I know, I know… Thinking about stuff you need to let go is rarely as fun as dreaming up new goals. But that’s the thing about focus: it’s kind of a jerk. In order to focus on one thing you must ignore many other things. … even things you like. Focus demands tradeoffs. I speak from personal experience here. My someday maybe list is longer than my arm. But even last week, as my team and I were having [an epic whiteboard session to draft our plans for 2024]( it was all about what we were NOT going to be doing next year in order to give all our attention to the few things that matter most. Don't stick to the belief that EVERYTHING is important and you must do all of it. (This is especially dangerous for business owners and leaders.) Trying to do it all is the fast track to burnout — which you may already be feeling in these final months of the year. Still, even when you’re aware of this simple truth, identifying your NO’s for the New Year is tough if you don’t have a system to follow. That’s why, next Tuesday the 7th, I’m going to help you take the first step during a free, online workshop called [How to Plan Your Year]( (👉 [Tap here to RSVP and save your spot now.]( This is your chance to gather your thoughts before the whirlwind of the holidays arrives so you can get clear on two things: 1. What you want to accomplish next year 2. How you’re going to make it happen Many people will think about #1 over the next month or so. Very few think about #2. Be one of the few. It’s much easier to deal with jerks like focus when you’re not facing them alone. [Here’s the link to save your spot now.]( See you there! — Shawn P.S. It was just a few days ago that I announced the workshop, and we already have close to 500 people signed up to join us. It’s going to be a blast!
